Something bothering me about all this jungle "diversity" and Cinderhulk. Link is meta-related.
So this is something that's been bothering me for quite a while and I may get some negative flak from it, but this is the place to discuss it. Exactly how in any way, shape or form has the Cinderhulk jungle item improved jungle diversity, when in fact it feels it's eliminated MATCH diversity?
A lot of the tank junglers that were around in the time of Juggernaut as opposed to Cinder still performed very well, and that was right around the time
was getting on his feet with buffs anyway.
always has been viable as well, along with
etc. So why pigeon hole so hard with Cinder?
Even pre-buffs I found Juggernaut to effect diversity in a seriously positive way. The free tenacity freed up your boot slot to truly itemize your tank for a better situation and more utility. For example if what was needed out of my Nautilus was damage, I could build
. If what I needed was the ability to cut through slows and get to the back line?
. Actual item diversity and the ability to gear more towards current situations.
It also allowed you to build standard items to help more with your team comp. Any item you build with no health doesn't scale off the 25%, leaving you at a severe disadvantage and punished if you build anything damage related. It can be argued that tanks shouldn't build those anyway, but there's matches where tanks have to do the brunt of the damage or is the one getting fed to help the team's performance (regardless of how unprofessional it may be), and I don't think Riot should be directly enforcing and inhibiting my play style in such a direct way.
Cinder's also had a shocking change on the meta and the game environment, in which even toplaners are picking it thanks to the insane health bonus and tanks reigning supreme this season. Most matches now steer in the direction 4 tanks and an ADC (that even sometimes builds tanky
, or has insanely long range
), and again is that the diversity they called for? Cinder is so powerful in this sense that all 3 other jungle items are built a fraction of the time that Cinder is.
Does anyone agree or disagree? Does anyone else tend to feel that this meta is literally 10 whales crashing in to eachother? And does anyone else feel that cinder has negatively impacted stylization, itemization and champion pools? Fire away if you have a stance.
