Welcome to Dynamic Queue! Play with a premade, or don't play.

Jesus Christ this is getting ridiculous. I win 8 matches in a row with a premade, then play solo and lose 5 in a row. I've been doing this for months now. It's not a fucking coincidence, it's literally rigged against solo players. My god do I miss solo queue.

Yeah. Dynamic que is fucking cancer.

KarmasPolice10 votes

Ranked is a Normal with a public MMR that's it. No system can evaluate premade dynamics in a 5v5 while grading you individually. It's impossible. I am no longer playing and neither should you.

Jorencice2 votes

That's the same excuse as bronzies blaming elo hell and bad teammates for then being in bronze.

You can very easily grade an individual in a team setting. Almost every team sport can and does

KarmasPolice3 votes

Give me 1 sport...ONE, that does it...none does, because you need too much context, there are too many variables: Voice vs no voice Experience Sinergy Those can't be measured individually, that's why we had TEAM RANKED. and GROUP MMR.

Also what is the context of your rank? a solo player playing climbing alone will do 10 times better than a premade player climbing and then playing a game solo..

Too Much Context.

Now i don't give a fuck, I stopped playing, I moved on, so i'm just telling so you don't lie to yourself, unless you are Diamond1+ or you play solo, your rank means absolutely positively nothing.

Errr...all sports. Literally every single sport grades individual performance. There is a billion dollar industry around it.

I agree that DQ is cancer, but yah...stats are a real thing. LoL just doesn't measure very useful stats.

KarmasPolice1 votes

Baseball is NOT a TEAM SPORT!

It may seem like it, and there are teams! But if you break it down, and if anything baseball statistics says so as well(If you take the sum all the statistics of a baseball team your prediction will have a strong correlation to their performance, much stronger than Basketball, Football, Soccer, or any other team sport), Baseball is purely an ** individual sport in a team environment**. Every hit or catch is purely done in interactions between individuals. 1 Pitcher -> 1 Batter -> 1 Catcher.

McKeifus2 votes

Football, hockey, basketball...every single sport grades individual performance of players. Every single one.

But not ranking. And these are professional players, on professional teams.

The DQ equivalent would be putting Gretzky on an amateur team and remarking at how much better all the other have been doing.

McKeifus1 votes

I'm not saying DQ is good, just that it's actually possible to grade individual performance in a team sport, is done in every major sport, and determines a lot of what players get on what team. Additionally, if Riot measure the right stats, you could use individual performance to matchmake players well. But all they measure is KDA and CS basically, which is important, but not everything.

KarmasPolice1 votes

Yes...via SCOUTING. Like real people have to go and watch you play so they can get the CONTEXT to why you are good. Statistics in any sport but baseball are worthless without context.

If you are an NBA fan look at the Houston Rockets who on PAPER had a great team, and they crashed completely due to reasons outside of their individual ability.

There's quite a lot of factors here.

One, we are talking professional teams with somewhat static rosters and all the same basic level of play.

DQ would be taking the major leaguers, minor leaguers, all the way down to the little leaguers, and allowing them all to play with each other and grading them all in the same way. Doesn't work.

Two, stats are not the same as "rank". There are two components to sports statistics, number and significance. The number is an observation, home runs, yards covered, first downs, etc. The significance is how important people say it is to overall performance, purely subjective.

There is no system in place for team sports that rank each player from #1 to #1000. None.

We don't pick apart the teams and match them against each other based on that system.

So you can't really compare.

Ranking aside, premades actually get a higher chance at their primary role.

So there's that too.

I play with a support main - I get a 90% chance at jungling.

I play solo - I get a 50% chance at jungling.

Jorencice3 votes

U could just learn more than 1 role.

Jesus is Savior7 votes

U could just learn more than 1 role.

No, I can't, because the secondary role I've been playing for 4 years is support.

And if I pick that as my secondary role, it becomes my main role. So statistically I have to pick jungle/mid (1st/3rd roles) to gain the most ELO, which is shit compared to last season when I could jungle/support.

Or I can play in a premade and get jungle 90% of the time.

PiVoRx2 votes

This, i used to be supp 2nd but now im dice rolling with 2nd mid.

Not when the entirety of the mathematical model used to do the actual ranking is based on a system WHICH WAS DEVELOPED TO RATE CHESS PLAYERS!

Because you know...chess is not a team-game.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elo_rating_system

And before the inevitable google-wisdom "Blablabla but its used in many multiplayer games blablabla..." ... this is completely fine AS LONG AS THE MULTIPLAYER TEAM IS A FIXED, CONSISTANT ENTITY IN THAT SYSTEM. Which, in dynQ, by definition, it isn't.

KarmasPolice3 votes

Yup. That's why Riot LIED to everyone, and continue lying when they say they want LoL to be a sport. They made the game LESS like a sport with DQ and more like a casual hobby.

That pissed me off more than anything, and I sincerely hope, LoL will either realize how transparent and bad they look and revert it, or will become just another MOBA in a 2 years span, like I think they will.

DarkRitual9 votes

I actually win more solo than I do with parties. Maybe you should focus on ways to improve your communication with premades?

Remember, you're working with them, not against them. So being negative towards them isn't helping anyone. Ask for pings, and ping "On my way" more than usual. You could also ask to join them in voice chat for the game, but that's a perposterous notion for the soloq mentality.

Edit: So after looking you up, and checking out some of your game stats, I notice a few things. The biggest amongst them is your ward numbers are abyssmal. Like Bronze level low. You do buy pink wards though, which is a good improvement from the previous statement. Second, is your keystones on some of your masteries are not optimal. Grasp on a tank support is not that good. Bond or Strength is significantly better. Strength over Grasp on Mundo page also feels odd, as does Thunderlords on Evelynn (less certain about this one, but guy feeling tells me it's not optimal). I would also consider condensing some of those rune/mastery pages. A bunch of them look pretty unused/outdated overall.

The fact that you're getting down voted with zero replies to your comment really shows how ignorant and whiny some of the people on this forum are. Nobody want's to change the way they play, everyone wants to continue to play poorly and blame Riot for their shitty rank.

EmollientNut01 votes

I actually never saw his comment. No reason to fly off the handle and start assessing blame directions.

Lauchmelder2 votes

It's not you in personal I'd say. Most SoloQQers (basically those tossing around the "Bring back SoloQ" every few hours) just downvote without giving a reason to it. It's kinda hypocritical what they do.

EmollientNut02 votes

I appreciate the assessment actually, and it's true that I can occasionally forget to ward. And at this point on the account I have so many rune pages that most of them are either random tests or pretty much irrelevant hahaha. The names of the actual pages themselves are all over the place since Riot WON'T JUST LET US REORDER THEM. I haven't played Evelynn in an incredibly long time, but if I do again soon I'd probably try some different things than I used to use. I think overall my mechanics are very good but you're right, I tend to hyperfocus on that and occasionally leave some things to the wayside. Just as an example of how outdated my pages are, I don't think I've played support at all in probably 5 months hahaha. Either way you seem like a nice player, feel free to add if you'd like!

EmollientNut01 votes

Oh, and about the Evelynn thing: I feel like it's pretty tough finding the "right" mastery for her. There's a lot that seem halfway helpful. Thunderlord's helps with some burst, but it feels a little wasted when you're doing sustained damage. Strength of the Ages would help tankiness, but not do much for your stealthy engages. A side of me wants to experiment with Fervor, feel like there's a lot of auto gain there, and her E will instantly provide 4 stacks.

I climbed from S1 to where I'm at now (Plat 4) playing completely solo and I honestly only ever complained once about dynamic queue.

Leetri5 votes

It's easier to just blame Dynamic Queue, plus you get free internet points.

Troll for Trump2 votes

Dyna queue makes there be tons of losing/winstreaks, and it's just generally more grindier, especially if you start now, where all the dynamic boosters have gotten active, tons more premades are formed, people have started paying to get elo boosted, and many solo queuers have stopped playing ranked. Just Premades everywhere.

It's taken me over 100 games this season, starting from s4 to get stuck in s1, while it took me only 60 ish to get from B2 to G5 last season.

Well in my last game on my smurf in the first 40 seconds i kinda disrespected the enemy (laughing infront of his tower) suddenly he and his two premades came, thresh grabbed me and i just W out of it (playing LB). Best way to show them is what i did, crush them and dance on their dead bodies.

More like unless you are in a premade of 5 with extreme communication or else don't play.

I have found that the easiest queues are 3-man and 4-man (as long as one of my teammates are support).

  1. Higher chance at primary role (90% instead of 50%)

  2. Enemy team isn't 5-man, so while they might play better than a solo queuer, they won't play like a pro team who practices specific 5-man strategies together (like people did in old ranked 5s - which is why I never played 5s for the ward skins).

Doesn't much matter when most of the strategy has been murdered. Games are so boring now since you can make a pretty good guess how it'll turn out based just on champ select. Some amount of team coordination might help, but you still end up with huge chunks of the champion list never being picked because they're useless against all the easier ones. ;)

Occams Raiser1 votes

Besides the pro level, I never thought the game was that hard to predict. I thought it was mostly champ select and synergy.

Very Hard Engage3 votes

you're not winning more or less based on whether or not you're in a party or not. its just because the average players in your league have changed, its either you get some boosted players on your team so you're destined to fail, or you're just removing the bad potential players from your games and playing at your true skill level.

theres just a lot worse players higher up than they should be. so if you get a team, you're going to cream the players who dont deserve the rank they sit at.

so basically you've been boosted up higher than where you belong, and you aren't having an impact on the game, if everyone in the room is soloq, you should matter

A serial feeder3 votes

I only play solo and have a 75% win rate did not lose a single game in silver 2 and silver 1 i am not sure if my elo is just to low but i honestly have not noticed a difference from last year ranked :/ the only difference is that i can play my main ahri every game.

taking masters doestn tell anything. Fact is dynamiq q is full of boosting abusing and wrong placed peoples + you dont need to play really withoput 5 man premades. Tell me one reason why 5 man prems should fight vs 5 solo q. or 4man, or 3 or 2. Dynamiq q needs to go or it will go down like the numbers since release. It cant work if you dont match with a 100% prems vs prems. Before that ranked is no more ranked. Yoru platin? nice you got 4 other dudes to boos you vs soloq so your like bronce 1-silver5 actually

Jorencice3 votes

Lol. I guarantee you 95% of people are where they belong.

You people think 100% of premades have a challenger level freind that boosts them don't you?

The fact of the matter is out of the 40 or so people I know that play leauge ONLY ONE OF THEM are higher than diamond all the other ones are bronze 2 to silver 1. And he's a pure solo q player so he definatly isn't boosting.
