The most bullshit part about Morde's ult
#The ability will cancel and go on cooldown if: The target is unstoppable or cc-immune (spell-shields).
If you play
or buy a spell-shield item, such as
, the spell-shield is popped by the .5 second 75% slow his ult has for some reason for its cast time, meaning the effects basically don't function against Morde. Cool. Fair. Balanced. Doesn't even have to land a Q before just spamming his R key on a spellshield.
At least Nocturne and Sivir can time theirs properly. Every other champ except
is SoL unless they buy QSS, and an item tax vs a damage champion is never good design, since being forced to buy a defensive item to not get destroyed while they continue with their core build puts them at a massive advantage. Its not like Morde is super ult reliant
or has to land a skillshot
to make it fairly balanced.
He targets a decoy.
#The ability will cancel but will not go on cooldown if: He loses sight of his target. The target is too far away.
If you somehow escape during the .5 second cast time, he's not punished at all. Why? Why is he not punished for using his ult poorly when there's almost no way to use his ult poorly?
The target suddenly becomes untargetable, vanishes, or goes into stasis.
I don't understand why using significant defensive CDs basically can't punish the ability that has almost no poor-use cases.
#WHY DID RIOT MAKE IT SO THERE'S NO REALISTIC WAY TO ITEMIZE AGAINST OR PLAY AGAINST HIS ULT? You either play a hypermobile champion and MAYBE survive depending on the circumstances, succumb to the QSS tax, or you lose.
No, QSS doesn't count as a "realistic way to itemize against" his ult. For anybody, even ADCs who can utilize Mercurial Scimitar, it puts you at a 1300 gold disadvantage because nobody is rushing the full item, and less than 10% of the roster would ever want to finish it.
Why does Morde have to be idiot-proof?

mords new ult is actually pretty lame compared to his new one and I've seen it treated as a joke most the time.
