It's 2020 and the way assist gold works is still dog shit

Roaming and securing 7 kills where you did 80% of the damage, using all of your cooldowns, and then proceeding to get steamrolled in lane and transition into the late game with no power because you only have 7 assists worth ~450 gold total is really great.

It's especially bad when you shut down someone with a 1000g bounty and some early game champion with no late game relevance gets all the gold, while everyone else gets 37 gold.

This should have been reworked long ago. The way it works right now is shit.

There was a time in which shut down gold was split between the whole team, but that was not working out.

Knowing that you have to let the high value last hit to your late game carry is part of the game, so, sorry but that's some skill expression.

I cant recall, was there a time when the gold was just flat out split evenly?

I think that would have been nicer.
