How do you play ADC in solo queue?

What's the secret? I'm an ADC main for 4 years now and every game feels extremely unrewarding - my winrate is now 50% higher playing Amumu jungle even though I've never learned the new jungle since scuttlecrabs came out and I've played at least 1000 games as adc. I feel like I have no ability to impact anything - the lane is virtually always decided by the better support, which I have no control over, or which team ganks bottom first/most effectively, which I also have no control over. I'm getting really frustrated with the game at this point because so many of my matches are just "outfarm your opponent but get beat by the other team and then lose without ever being able to do any meaningful amount of damage." "Tickle the enemy squishies for 5 or 6 seconds and then get instaburst by the enemy mid, top, jg, or sometimes now, even support."

It's not only frustrating but also boring to just sit around and wait to lose, and the outcome usually seems to be decided pre-10 minutes. Am I missing something? Am I the only one who feels this way? When I play normals I often get much better support players and can actually do stuff - I got a great blitzcrank support the other day and had three quadrakills in 2 games, one of which I went 20/2/11 and hard carried. I know it's not that I lack the mechanical skill or team fighting ability. My last game we never even had any team fights - they just ganked and got a kill in bottom, took the turret, and from there the game was basically over. At this point games with team fights seem to be the exception, not the norm. I'm in gold 4 or something like that, I was plat three of the last 4 seasons, and now I can't even pull a 50% winrate with adc.

I don't play Jhin or Kai'sa - to me Jhin is Riot saying "Welp, we've made ADC really shitty to the point of being unplayable, so we'll make one that can just teamfight from off the screen so he can survive the myriad of assassins and mages that can jump over walls or flash all the way across the screen with repeated dashes and lunges and all kinds of bullshit." Kai'sa is more or less the same in that regard, what with the skill shot that has like a 2 screen width range (or higher?) and the ult to follow it up. And she builds ap or hybrid or something so she can just build hourglass and then not get burst.

In the old days you could actually ban shit - like "oh, I don't want to play against hooks, so I'll ban blitzcrank and I don't need to." Then they added thresh so now you'd need 2 bans, and now with Kayn and Nautilus being viable support it's unbannable. If the enemy wants to pick hooks then fuck you. Or "I don't want to play against unlimited flashes, so I'll ban Kassadin." But now you've got so many characters with dash resets and flashes and Zoe, I just hate it.

How do people play ADC in solo queue and not put their fist through their monitor?

Riot nerfed marksmen so hard that they can no longer do anything on their own. Marksmen now require the entire team to do well for them to even be useful. God forbid your team feeds their ass off and you go even because you WILL not carry them, it's impossible. Riot took all of the solo carry potential out of marksmen. The role is now solely dependent on the competence or your teammates. Proof of this is in Pro play. Teams that funnel as many resources as they can into their marksmen dominate their leagues, RNG with Uzi, TL with Doublelift. Teams that don't put as much emphasis on their marksmen have less than stellar records or barely scrape out some wins. I was watching Doublelift play Korean solo q last night, and whenever the marksmen was mid with the team, the team let the marksmen take all the cs, he didn't ping or ask or have to fight for it, they KNOW that the marksmen need as much gold as they can get to carry. This doesn't happen in lower elo so you have to play hard stomp champions, because your team isn't going to play around you or for you, they are also picking feast or famine hard stomp champions, so when they get smashed its over. There are only two marksmen that can currently hard stomp, MF and Jhin, however if they get shut down in lane its gg. In fact did you know that MF actually has the LOWEST base dmg of all the marksmen but because of her ability scaling she's strong. Jhin is only strong because of the ability to basically have 2 of his 4 shots crit for massive dmg off one item, his ult is honestly kinda weak. Marksmen are trash and Riot ruined the role for all the people that enjoy playing it.

I have also witnessed more people in Silver elo chase kills and dive 1 v 3 into a red minion wave than I ever saw in Bronze which baffles me. Then they flame the marksmen because the marksmen wasn't dumb enough to do the same thing (Jax players I'm looking at you). "Who's more foolish, the fool, or the fool who follows?"

The secret is to not play marksmen in low elo. Riot doesn't want you to. Unless you get a Zyra or Zilean or Morgana support you are losing if you lock in a marksman. If your support doesn't know what they are doing or pick Sona or Soraka, you aren't going to win your lane. You will get pushed out and forced to cs under tower as the combined dmg probably won't match the combined dmg of the enemy team. If your support constantly gets caught out and feeds the enemy bot lane, you might as well just surrender at 15 cause it's over at that point.

pick one thats self reliant or find a duo buddy and play with them until you know how you work together

Don't play it without a support duo or a jungle duo.

That's good actually. Let's hope the ADC role will stay in gutter AND hope Kai'sa+Jhin will be nerfed soon.

There are a ton of support mains who are looking for duo partners on the boards. A good idea would to find a reasonable support main, and resume your climb.

I play almost exclusively Xayah or Twitch in ranked at least if lane goes to shit I either have permastealth or I literally just auto whoever's closest to me and press E to still do relevant damage to the entire enemy team. Kinda sucks having bot turret being the squishiest along with dragon being down there so every play ends up in botlane for the first 10-15 mins.

Play MF and stomp the hell out of lane fase or die repeatedly because you have no self peel.

It's a good trade because you will win way more than lose cuz she's really strong, or go for adcs like Lucian/Ezreal that have more self peel.

But the best choice is always find a supp to duo with.

You have to position really well and cs whenever possible you should be aiming for 7 cs per min at least. Duoing also helps when i play adc.
