Why does anyone keep playing ranked to try and climb?
It's such a fucking crapshoot. Which team has the feeder on it? Which team has the elo booster or smurf on it? Win several games and get promoted, but then lose a few games in a row and get demoted after 1 loss at 0 lp and get gated behind a series again. Which you then lose because of feeders and boosters. I don't get it. How is it supposed to be fulfilling or rewarding if your winning or losing the game has so little to do with your play? I just don't understand how people stick with it. It's so fucking frustrating and the rewards are nonexistent. A meaningless rank in a shitty game that's 5 years past its prime. Or you are low honor level because you lost your temper at a feeder or something. It's been about a year since I got set to honor level 0 and I'm still not quite back to level 3 yet, so good job whoever designed that system. It's super meaningful and highly effective.
I guess maybe if ADC wasn't so fucking shit it might not be so bad. But it doesn't matter how much of a lead you can accrue in lane when your teammates are running a soup kitchen in the mid or top lane. Which happens way too often because of the rampant smurfing and boosting. I feel like I have to just grind games forever to get any rank improvement at all because of all the bullshit that goes on in solo queue. I just don't understand how anyone feels like it's worth it or in any way rewarding. The only person I know who climbed to diamond this year got hard boosted by someone smurfing from high diamond.
Only about 99 more hours to go...
