A simple way to make Xerath viable

Buff his Q range, not even a lot, just slightly, like from 1400 to 1500 will do. Right now it has 1400 maximum range after 1.5 seconds of charge. Lux, who doesn't need to charge, has 1100+350(the radius of hitbox) with e. Ziggs, who doesn't need to charge as well, can bonce his Q to a maximum range of 1400, that may cost the same time, but WAY safer. Varus, who needs to charge as well, has 1625 maximum range.

As a basic logic, Xerath is supposed to have a very long range in exchange of his immobility. However, when you compare him with other long-ranged immobility casters, you can see that he doesn't have a range advantage at all, while having WAY LESS safety due to his long cast time and short cc duration. At current state, there is no reason for people to pick Xerath, anything he can do, Lux can do better, you need to give him a unique feature, and about that, my suggestion is follow his classic impression of long-ranged, and buff this feature to a point where other champions (Lux ) can't replace him completely.

PS:This is not a whining from Xerath main. I main Lux, and I do pretty well with Ziggs and Varus, that's why my friends suggested Xerath to me. After trying him out for several games, I feel pity for him because he is beaten at his strongest area, right now he is like a crappy version of Lux. I'm posting this because I want one more champion in my champion pool., and it's not that hard, just a slight buff, not even a rework.

Xerath is totally viable right now, What are you going on about?

Actually, Xerath will destroy Lux in lane provided a similar skill level. He's a brutal lane bully, and can just build to poke anyone and everyone to death without them being able to even touch him.

Nope, he has 50 less range than Lux EVEN AT FULL CHARGE of his Q

I totally agree that Xerath Should be a pokelord, the fact is right now he isn't. There are a lot of champions out there as I listed have similar range as him without charge, or has longer range than him with the same charging time. That's why I want a slightly buff on Q range

The reason Lux can't do anything to a Xerath who's playing right, is that he can utterly deny her any attempts at pushing. There's really two ways to play Xerath vs Lux. One is poke combo, which he does actually have the range advantage with. Because he can move while charging his Q.

That 50 range is limited by how easy it is to see and dodge, while Xerath's is instant and he can move around it while casting.

The other, is the anti-fun Sustain Xer. You sit back, clear any minions that push with ability spam. They'll have no choice but to tank minions or let their turret take damage. This one works especially well against champions like Zed.

Lux vs Xer, is one matchup that Xerath will often win. Lux may be a bully, but Xerath bullies even harder if they're playing right.
