Riven You can ult during E. Don't E+Q in quick succession because it will cancel your E's dash, and you'll only go the Q distance. W+E is very useful for dissengaging from Garen's and Jax's, it can be animation canceled into one cast and be not clunky at all. Doublecast is a good burst tool, .25 - .75 seconds after casting E, you can cast Q and W at the same time. You have time for an auto attack right before it, which can be input buffered. Can be used for trading, but primarily for engages and assassinations. TIamat can be canceled by any spell. Tiamat W, Tiamat Q, Tiamat E, they all work. Haven't tried Tiamat R though. Don't burn all your dashes getting to someone unless you can kill them without your main form of DPS (Q). Spacing out Q's will reduce your Q downtime.

The /r/Rivenmains sidebar has pretty much everything you need to know.

Practice combo's so you can use her effectively. Then figure out match ups and gauge your power against each one. Get CDR runes, 9 tier 1 blues and 1 CDR Quint should be enough. Learn your opponents CD's and see if you can get them to pop one, dissengage, and then go back in while they're down (depends if their CD's are longer than yours).

Figure out how you wanna build for each game, the main difference being lifesteal bruiser and assassin. As an assassin, perfect your assassination combos and see if you can follow up on your tank's engage, and also take the opportunity to oneshot anyone out of position but make sure that you do not flash too far up. As a bruiser, usually you wanna split push and duel your opponent.

A lot of tanks/juggernauts can push you out of lane if you aren't careful, once you get Cleaver + DD you can fight almost any tank in the game. The rest just need an LW and you should be good to go.

There's more, but I can't think of it.

Bard can Tunnel on the wall that's the boarder for the map, from Fountain to inhibitor and form inhibit turret to 2nd turret and vice versa.

Kindred can jump wall that is between red buff from base but only in a small window, hard as hell to do under pressure.

Nami wins games, worth investing time into just incase you get auto filled, her bubbles has same duration cc as a sona R and its on a fraction of the CD, dealing half the damage of her level 6 R at level 1.

Do not chase Singed.

If your team lacks CC and mobility avoid prolonged fights in the jungle, your gonna have less dodge room for skillshots and take lots of unnecessary damage.

Take a break when on tilt.

Be polite and try to diffuse tilted or flameish teammates.

Nautilus's q traveling can't be stopped by much other than a veigar e

I think it can be stopped in the actual travel duration, just that if you get CC'd while throwing out Q, it'll still go through.

I think I've seen Vayne Condemn a Naut hook (on wall, I think) before.

JarvanIV EQ can be cast while snared, and doesn't interact with cc the same way as other dashes (much like Naut q). This is because it's coded as a pull (as if he were pulled by blitzcrank) rather than a dash.

Diana Can ult-q and get the dash reset if you have low enough ping and a fast enough input, making it much harder to dodge q.

Lux e is very difficult to dodge by moving backwards, but can often be dodged by walking forwards. It has a high missile speed and a big radius, but with some luck and prediction you can bait it out in lane and sidestep it if you make it seem like you are going to walk forward to farm and then quickly change directions and go to the side.

Vladimir Resource bar not only shows when his empowered q is going to be up, but telegraphs the cooldown on his q in general; because it has two parts. This isn't huge, but knowing exactly when an enemy champion's bread-and-butter nuke, trade, and sustain spell is going to be up at any given time can be pretty valuable.

Edit: Oh, and to piggy-back off of what op said, during your first clear as Nautilus you want to start your w before the camp spawns (and give up the reset) so that it comes back off cooldown sooner - until you get some points in it monsters will shatter the shield early anyway, and you effectively lower the CD by 3-5s depending on the camp. It does take some practice to time it though.

RekSai use to be able to unborrow at just the right time to stop leap attacks (like Jax, Riven Q, Lee Q, Quinns Vault, Panth W, etc)

But they broke it in her update.

Swain : When trading in lane with Ult you want more of the enemy minions (full wave or more) because you will heal off each one. This allows you to win the trade or even get the kill because they will stay longer thinking their minion wave is hurting you when it is healing you. (this is less so at lvl 6 and very good at lvl 9+. Building Tanky items with + healing on them will affect your Ults heal.

item 3030 item 3222 item 3107 item 3116 item 3040 item 3065 item 3512 are all good items on Swain but always ALWAYS get item 3157 as second item.

Enter Team fight with Ult active blow everything and CDs then when <50% hit item 3157, you will still be attacking and healing with your Ult while the enemy cant do anything to you.

Ziggs can animation cancel his Q and the Bomb will be invisible. Its hard to time but still can be done.

Getting item 3512 and item 3100 on Ziggs makes you take turrets STUPID fast, max W second so you can blow up Turrets when they are at ~40% hps.

You can use his W to also stop Channel powers like TP or Ults like Kat, Malz, Luc, Vel by knocking them aside.

Yorick can use his Wall to keep minions away from turrets (yours or the enemies), this allows your minions to stay longer when attacking enemy turrets or will let your minion wave meet the enemies before it reaches your turret.

His Wall is also perfect size to block off paths in the Jungle. When being chanced you can block off one side of a fork in the jungle and take the other one If you are not seen they will flash the wall or attack the wall thinking you went that way.

HIs Wall also will push enemies aside like Ziggs W, you can stop a top laner from TPing or interrupt Channel Ults (Kat, Malz, Luc, Vel)

I'm still new to game, but i would like to point out how much I appreciate a thread like this

Janna : If you're running CDR in your rune page, item 3301 item 1004 is actually a very solid start against poke-heavy bot lane comps. You'll be virtually impervious to mana issues, and can shield basically on demand.

DemonBoneJangles1 votes

Urgot : most people forget he had damage reduction on his ult, meaning if you use it at lower health they can be fooled into thinking they can kill you kinda like mundo's ult. Also his E works with liandrys torment combined with the slow from his shield you can deal lots of damage through two burns and a slow

Nocturne and Sivir : spell shields break on dragons attacks granting their respective mana and attack speed buffs from the shield breaking

having teleport on slow moving champions can make a huge difference even if you aren't playing top, and it allows for some creativity when trying to beat the enemy team as long as your team can ward
