pantheon top saw lcs play
riot that is not a good sign
riot that is not a good sign
No that's a good sign
Pros might start abusing him and get him nerfed. Pantheon is like riot's worst kept secret because everyone and their mother knows he is broken asf.
isnt busted, he is only seeing play and winning because the meta is ending games before his glaring weaknesses pop up

yeah, everybody knows you should just wait 30 mins and get butffucked in lane with 50 cs at 30 mins... then he "falls off". guess what, if he builds full ad or bruiser-ish, he doesn't fall off at all.
Well....considering his gapcloser are either short range or telegraphed (ult) you coudl easily kite him or let yoru mage blow him upin 0.5 sec if he goes full AD

Seriously. Laning against Pantheon is one of the least fun things in this fucking game. He fucks you in lane and then when you get shoved under turret because you have no other means to farm with any degree of safety, he roams with a global ganking tool. What a fun champion to play against.
Pantheon is sitting at a 56% win rate in Diamond and Master. And a whopping 64% in Challenger (granted, the sample size is much smaller in Challenger, but that's besides the point.)
diamond and master are also pretty small relative to literally any other leauge,
he is can be completely shut down by a jungler because of that shoving if he does it to early he is fucked because the other laner will freeze and he is fucked.
that been said, why pantheon is winning is because corruption pot and early game meta.
if either of those change pantheon goes back to be a niche lane bully ( which imo renekton does better and win the pantheon lane )
> diamond and master are also pretty small relative to literally any other leauge
The Diamond sample size is nearly 10,000 games, according to op.gg. That is a large enough sample size to paint a clear enough picture.
** he is can be completely shut down by a jungler because of that shoving if he does it to early he is fucked because the other laner will freeze and he is fucked.**
So my primary strategy is to hope that my jungle decides to gank my lane? What if he decides he's not going to do that, despite me asking him to? What is my strategy if I "play safe" but get pushed to turret and then the enemy jungler or mid show up to dive me?
10g games played by the same 1k people vs 10k games played by 50k people. the sample size isnt the issue there, its payer diversity.
and no it isnt hoping for jungle ganks
wanna beat pantheon in lane? play renekton you out trade him due to sustain and pantheons level 1 and 2 are horridly weak. he only picks up around level 3 and is in full swing by 4 abuse it.
wanna play what you wanna play let the pantheon shove you in, run TP, if he leaves lane visioucly ping it and get ready to TP. and play huge the tower.
stack 2 doreens shields and run armor runes ( which you should be doing anyways) if pantheon doesnt get a lead form anywhere he is practically worthless
falling off has nothing to do with damage.
falling off means at a given point and time in a game the champion in question can no longer do their job effectively enough to have a significant impact.
which is why pantehon can go 5/0 during laning but still lose the game after 30 mins.
I personally see nothing wrong with a champion being played in the LCS.
if champion like pantheon garen see lcs play means that they are busted
That's faulty logic. Riot creates all champions to be viable in competitive. They don't have an approved and disapproved list of who is allowed to be played.
Now if you wanted to argue that pantheon has always been a problem because of his counterplay less combo, then that's sound. But simply stating a champion saw a game in LCS, time to nerf? That's a bit far fetched.
do i have to remember you how old pantheon is? riot many times admitted themselves that some champions if see lcs play means they are in need of nerf cause they would be destroying solo q
and others
If they're consistently picked maybe. Having it picked once? Are you insane? That's no call for a nerf, that's a team trying it out for a specific comp.
i believe it was meddler that said if old poppy saw play in LCS he would have to nerf her into the ground and she was no way near as much of a binary stat check as panth.
old poppy was way more toxic than pantheon you can't deny that
I miss my Q 1 shots
comparing poppy to pantheon?
you've lost your mind.
old poppy
-couldnt be CC -couldnt be killed -couldnt be bursted
she was nerfed into the ground because she was literally impossible to play against

Actually with garen that is the case, atleast from what i've read from different people. The way his kit is designed means that if you buff him wrong, he becomes a monster. Same with old poppy, so she was kept weak until the rework. This is one of the reasons people think garen needs a mini update.
He's been busted in soloqq for a long while though.
Pantheon was used specifically to counter kennen, a character who has had a ridiculously high pick/ban rate across all regions. I consider it a massive win, as it means that the meta might finally be shifting away from the auto-attack splitpushers and more into teamfight carry territory.
Pantheon's a teamfight carry? I thought he was more of a lane bully who turns into an assassin late game. He only has his ultimate up for teamfights.
I'd consider him more of a teamfighter than a split-pusher lategame (as assassins are rarely ever played top), with his ulti allowing him to pop in and cc people like shen.

His W only CC's one person, and it's the same one he dashes to. If he wants to go for the ADC, the tank is completely free to lock him down.
He's far more of a splitpusher because he retains high DPS with Q's low cooldown, and his passive is decently effective when it's not a mage popping it with a 50 damage auto. Of course, that's not to say certain champions outscale his dueling and make him useless that way (although lategame it's hard to actually outduel him, only kite him, because of his stun and deletion abilities.
Pantheon is the highest winrate top laner in high elo and has been for a while. He's broken.
Darshan played him top last season and dominated IMT with him. The result was no change in play rate....
his mana costs are ridiculous. You guys have no idea that it is NOT an instalock win picking Pantheon. Anyone who survives his combo are going to destroy him and there's a lot of champs that can do that. He has to pick his spots and is pretty much all-in when he does. This means you have to have a strong team awareness when you play him or you ult into death at worst..a wasted R cooldown at best.

His spears cost 45 mana a pop and he starts Corrupting Potion 99% of the time, thus negating any "mana issues" he has.
That argument use to be valid.
But this is no longer season 3.
