Please Tell Me My Nautilus Isn't One of the Tank Reworks...
... I'm beginning to get scared. :(

He probably won't be. He's one of the very few tanks who's really never suffered from an identity crisis.
Neither did Vel'Koz or Brand, but... eheheh

Exactly. Nautilus is in a good spot. Why try to fix what isn't broken? I worry that if they update him it will only either make him less fun to play or make him broken for a short while before getting nerfed into the ground because the rework made him strong.
yeah it'll be something silly like:
Patch 7.16: Naut W - Now Provides a shield based on 20% of his Maximum HP and now provides a bonus of 100% bonus resistances for 15 seconds. 8 Second Cool Down Patch 7.18: Naut W - Now Provides a shield based on 5% of his Maximum Hp and an additional 1% for each enemy near by for 6 seconds. 11 Second Cool Down
You joke, but I do actually like the idea of Shields that give bonus Resistances.
Poppy flashbacks.
While i think you are salty on this point I wouldnt put this past riot. the thing is riot keeps nerfing tanks for damage but nerfing them when every they can do their job and survive too. though i dont think we will ever see a shield with a good scaleing on a tank that lasts longer that its cooldown even if its cooldown doesnt start until the shield is broken we wont see that. only sion ever had that before and he was not a tank at the time he was a hybrid mage/ fighter and his shield was shit at that time.
100% slightly salted joke. Trust me I don't ever expect the above... but still... Riot is capable of many things.
capable of things but their trend to nerf anything considered defensive or offensive on a defensive champion.
But neither of their kits were touched, they just got more stuff.

You're totally wrong there, they had very little identity before the mage update.

But the Vel'Koz rework was completely reverted, wasn't it? I think he had an identity beforehand, it was just niche. Vel is insanely good at kiting and lazoring through team fights.
No, Kog'maw is the only champion to have their rework completely reverted.
Vel was barely changed in the update. They basically just added AP scaling to his passive (I think? might have been there earlier) and made it so his laser does true damage to champions after passive procced.

I'm pretty sure his laser already did true damage before the update, I used to play Vel a lot. And I thought they reverted the ult changes a couple patches after. Also just as a note, Kog'maw's rework wasn't completely reverted. The "revert" left his kit in a worse shape than it was before the rework with higher mana costs but same capabilities, etc.

No, Vel's rework was just considered to not really solve the issue, he still doesn't really have much of an identity.
I don't know why you think he's insanely good at kiting and lazoring. There are a lot of champions with way better kiting power, there are a lot of champions who easily deal their damage to more targets, and using his ultimate locks him down which is the opposite of what you want to do when kiting.
They quite obviously did.
those champions were toxic in design but their changes were only ever buffs
I hope he is
but only for the hope that they'll push him back into jungle, because that's where I like to play him
He is fine in the jungle right now. I always play him there and never have any problems with clear, invades, or ganks. My problem when I play him is actually that I wait too long to go back and spend my gold because he has no need to ever go back.

Nuuuuuu, support Nautilus is where it's at!
wish they would kick his ass out of bot lane tbh
fucker is unkillable when I play vs him as bard
Well it is a utility support vs tank support. Honestly he should be unkillable when you are playing as Bard. It is not a good match up for Bard.
Then what freaking is?
a good match up for bard? squishy champs, usually. either champs that are easy to poke or can't capitalize on you leaving lane to roam
(easy to poke out)
Except Sona beats Bard too because she has a higher AA range and more damage coming out.
So we're saying Bard has only 4 good match-ups in bot lane? Hell, Janna isn't even a good match-up either since she just opts not to fight at all.
Bard is not really a good champion to select if you want to be an aggressive support trying to poke enemies out of lane or to death. You don't pick Bard for damage. He has only one damaging spell in his entire kit that can only hit 2 targets. He is about setting up your teammates for the kill (stunning enemy with Q, getting allies into proper position with E or baiting enemy into trap, locking down enemies with R so allies can get into position, etc).
Nautilus is a champion all about coming to you and locking you down. Bard is not the best at stopping that, as he only has a situational Q to stop that (as R would also lock ally into place unless really good/lucky aim). Bard is best at getting you to slippier enemies. I disagree with Leona being a good match up for Bard, Thresh is more dependent on skill levels.
Soz but I'm with this guy. I miss jungle naut. His nerfs combined with jg changes have made him basically a troll pick in the jg

Meh it's okay lol. I don't have anything against jungle Nautilus personally, I just enjoy playing him support more. The jungle changes seem rather harsh to a lot of champions who weren't meant to be core junglers. I was chatting with fellow Tahm Kench players in a thread the other day who also were frustrated with the jungle changes because Kench can't clear the red and blue buffs that well anymore since he has no little minions to use for his spit damage. I hope the jungle becomes a little more forgiving so that non-conventional picks aren't pushed out entirely.
All good. People allowed to love what they choose to <3 Mah preferred tank supp is the kench. Gotta love eating my ADC and dem mid lane double ganks. Outta interest, what gravitates you towards naut as opposed to braum or leo? And do you agree with riots classification of naut as a "vanguard". Personally I think he's a warden based on how I utilise his kit.
But this is the first season where it is simply impossible to get shit done. Sure last season was tricky (had to whip out sej and amumu) but this takes the cake as the harshest season on jungle tanks ever. Like I could get more done as a player who barely hit level 30, had no MS/atk speed/ armour runes in season 3. Than I can right now in season 7 with naut jungle. Currently elise and warwick are the closest champions I have to utility tanks that don't feel cheesy/cheap (new kha/reng and graves)
I just loved how much he helped everyone. Most junglers these days are like " ME!, YOUR KILLS ARE FOR ME!, YOUR CS IS FOR ME!, HERALD IS FOR ME!, MVP IS FOR ME!". Where as naut, since being fed wasn't helpful anyway could just race around farming up assists (season 4 4/5/13 average) and maken everyone happy.

It's mostly Nautilus's theme and character design that I just happen to like. Much more so than Braum and Leona. He has a giant anchor from the depths of the sea that he can use to reel opponents in and all of his spells except for his shield are reminiscent of the sea. His ult is also a lot of fun to use and learn when is a good time to use it. Braum and Leona are just strange looking people with sword and shield to me, kind of generic imo. But that's just my opinion. Also I am not sure what the difference is between a "vanguard" and a "warden" lol.
Wardens tend to defend/peel/block and have better suited tools to do so (braum, alistar) where as vanguards dive, disrupt and lock down (sejuani, amumu)

Oh, Nautilus definitely sounds like a vanguard to me in the way I play him, however, he seems more like a mix of both classes. If someone is chasing my adc, then I will peel for them but I also use my cc to pull in an easy pick for my adc to take (or as an escape).
They'll just add a bunch of lethality to his spells i guess, dont worry.

Lmao.
Lmao.
"support nautilus"
Death is the best cc
Well they talked about making them deal less damage and be more tanky/dish out more cc. Thing is, he has a crapton of all 3 with the right build. He might get some minor changes, but I highly doubt he's getting more than numbers tuned.

I sure hope so! He's a lot of fun to play as is, and I would hate to see that changed.
UUUUUGGGHHH I love Nautilus as he is, because he's so freak'n FUN to play. I COULD see the case though that he isn't fun to play AGAINST, as his biggest counterplay elements are: -don't get hooked and -don't stand next to him, at all, ever, oh god you got point and click ulted he's next to you anyway
he has some of the most viscerally fun kits in all of league of legends. Seriously his Q, E, and R just feel sooooo right to use. You feel useful no matter what abilities are on cooldown. Conversely, to the opponent nautilus is a cc machine no matter how many abilities they forced him to waste. If he was left alone though I wouldn't mind that. ;)
No but my boy Mega Gnar is... idk how... but they are going to try. Only Mega Gnar though
He needs less damage and more tankyness because right now he's a giant lane bully
He needs less damage and more tankyness because right now he's a giant lane bully
His damage drops off hard late game though. I think he is meant to be a lane bully without being overly oppressive. And regardless, just taking away a little bit of damage would be a balance issue, not something worth a rework over.
I doubt it, he's been in a good spot atm and is relatively updated/current compared to the majority of other tanks like Shen, Malphite, Amumu, Singed etc.
TBH, Nautilus and Leona are quite similar. It felt like one of the primary reasons they picked Sejuani was due to her similarities with Amumu.

Take Leona instead!!! q.q
Well, they did say they were only going to do three. Sejuani is already confirmed. I'm thinking Maokai is strongly implied as one of the other two since he was mentioned as getting all his splash arts updated in the Tank Update and I find it no coincidence that Sejuani was the other tank mentioned to get updated splash arts. That really only leaves one spot open with a large roster of Vanguard/Wardens that could get picked. My hope is for Skarner or Shen to get the last slot, since neither rework had much praise by the community.
Sejuani is officially confirmed? Can you please provide the source? I am highly interested in this.
