Riot Please Do Not Remove the Active on Face of the Mountain :/

Face of the Mountain has to be one of my favorite items in the whole game, and I find it's active shield to be a lot more fun to use than say Locket due to its single target nature. Replacing this with the active of Sightstone is not the right way to go. I have enjoyed carving out my niche in the support role, finding ways to be beneficial to my team without playing the vision game. Please don't take this away from me and all the other players who enjoy these actives now. If players are actively choosing to buy Face of the Mountain over its ward counterpart, then there is probably a reason why they are doing so (maybe it is because these players prefer to help teammates out during a team fight with that shield instead of running around dropping wards). Their decision should be respected. This change is just forcing players into something they are actively choosing not to partake in.

Thats... a heavy blow to my tank blitzcrank build because i need that for my adc to survive the enemys initial burst so i can start peeling.

Edit: also buy a darn sighstone. You can have both. Warding is hyper important.

Frost-queen's claim was a play maker item for my AP support line up. It potentially brought engage or peel to the lane depending on how it was used. I dislike that there will be no equivalent yet announced, since I had never build the sightstone combination items at all as I found the actives of the starting items more valuable.

Issue is that relic shield will no longer be useful for supports. Did you guys heard of ther elic shield, adc, overheal, and enchanters bot lane meta. Tank supports will no longer be a thing because the most important item is ancient coin. This will provide the best efficiency to finish the quest.

Also i love playing tank supports but Riot considered them op. sigh

Another change aimed at nerfing ADCs while simultaneously nerfing another class instead of just nerfing ADCs directly.

Yeah, why remove the variety of all the support items? I always had options, now those have been gutted.

I'm going to miss the coin active. Now if I want to go fast I need a righteous glory and that sped buff only works on me. I loved having the coin active to help get me or my team out a bad place or to run someone down.

Unless they have more items coming to make things more interesting this is a horrible decision.

The only thing this does is give me less options and more handholding.

Given that over half the tank supports build FOTM according to the plat+ builds on OP.GG, I'd say its a really dumb idea to get rid of this without replacing it with something similar, or at least making it a stand alone item. I donno why Talisman of Ascension is being kept over this since so few pro builds use it anymore or even coin since damage meta means almost everyone is going spellthief.

Instead of getting a small constant shield i now get wards. Daaaaamn i'm so happy i'm pretty much just losing the one thing interesting about my sightstone. Fuck this garbage, probably just gonna start selling that garbage from now on.

And "we'll try to find a way to bring their actives back..... Except fotm lul" the fuck even? Either remove all of them or let fotm keep it's active or (imo preferably) it's passive.

I feel you on not replacing the item actives for support starting choices. Frost queens ghosts are one of my favorites along with the speed up on spells. Back when it was still on Twin Shadows I loved that item too. Without it healing and poke supports are going to take a hit.

I'm not even a support main either. It's just that I started back in end of I think about season 4 right before Gnar's release. Back then team builder wasn't even around yet, so sometimes I had to support. Did a lot of support Nami.

Guessing that they were worried as a whole part of the reason the game snowballs so hard out of bot lane is how powerful supports currently are.

Hopefully if they make any changes it will be to give better trinkets. Maybe super trinkets you can only get by having the support item? I feel like removing all the item actives is overkill.

But the active was absolute dogshit compared to Locket. Locket not only outclassed it in single target shielding, but also grants the bigger shield to everyone.

Mostly I take stats over sightstone so I can win lane (my favourite is FOTM). Sometimes I take sightstone over gold-gen 2 so I can win lane. This change would erase both options.

It's like they don't want us to problem-solve.
