Is the new dragon even worth killing?

It's worth barely more than a full cannon wave. You need 3+ stacks for the buff to do anything important. A tower still grants global gold making them much more valuable.

Who want's to bet that in the LCS if you can't solo dragon as a jungler dragon will just be ignored or taken when sweeping through the enemy jungle and you're way ahead? I don't see this new dragon as even worth doing as a jungler.

The new dragon buffs are aimed towards lategame and power-buffs, since when you get 5 stacks (which will only happen somewhere at 40 mins this assuming if you make into this time-mark) the buff is much stronger than Baron (on the new SR and on our Live SR) which makes it quiet game-chaging.

Lets say that your team is losing the game but still making it to lategame and by coincidence (cmon just imagine ok?) you manage to get all the dragon buffs and the enemy none? Your team will be much more powerful the next time you TF and you will have more chances to turn the fight around and win.

you realize all those stats it permanently gives probably add more to your champ than the items the gold would have gotten? not to mention if you get the full set of stats it turns dragon into a second baron that's way easier to secure.

Not really. The losing team will have lost all the dragons so the winning side will have the buff.

The gain of HP/Mana regen is basically nothing at any point after the very first 3 minute dragon.

Yes. Free offensive stats at some point? That's pretty good.
