@Riot Should the GLP get buffed next season?

(yes, lol something OTHER than Rylai's, but I will be mentioning it lol :P)

for those who don't know what GLP is, Hextech GLP-800 (This item -> item 3030 ) gives the following stats currently:

Costs 3000G

300 Health 400 Mana 80 AP

and an active that deals 100-200 dmg (depends on level, with also 35% AP), and applies a 65% slow that decays for .5 seconds.

it's not really a bad item per se, but it's biggest competitor is THIS --> item 3027. ROD OF AGES:

Costs 2700G

300 Health (+200) 300 Mana (+100) 60 AP (+40)

After 10 minutes, RoA outshines GLP in almost every category, and that time is when mages really need to utilize their power. With GLP, the item gives a somewhat decent power-spike, but then it just falls off afterwards.

Now that I think about it, this could possibly be a solution to the Rylai's situation where Rylai's can be the Utility tank item (HP up, AP down, maybe lower the slows to 30%, that sounds good right?) and make GLP a 100 AP item, and add an extra 100 Mana. This'd make it sort of fit better within the Trio of Hextech items where Gunblade is for AP/AD Hybrids, Protobelt is for Mages who could use a dash to initiate and/or get out of a fight, and GLP is for Mages who want proper damage and can manage to stick to champions. Also it'd make it so Protobelt has 60 AP, Gunblade has 80 AP, and GLP has 100 AP. it fits as a good pattern :)

With the changes I suggested it makes it feel like an item that actually feels is worth 3000 Gold as an item, and a worthy option over RoA if needed.

One final bit is what this would do to the Gold Efficiency.

Currently, GLP stands at a Gold Efficiency of 1.03333333333 RoA currently stands at a efficiency of 1.56461538462. Also to put in comparison, Morellos has a Gold Efficiency of 1.12689655172, just thought I'd put that there.

With the changes I suggest to GLP, the Gold Efficiency would be 1.225, making it as efficient as it's supposed to be.

What do you think? I feel like it would serve as a good option for mages who want a little health, but are more into getting the damage they need to do the job. Rylai's can be the Tank item for AP Bruisers who need some slows, and RoA are for the in-betweens.

When you compare GLP to other AP items that give actives/damaging passives such as item 3100 item 3152 item 3285, it's actually pretty gold efficient considering its stats are worth over 100% of the cost and you get the passive and active on top of that.

The problem I'm seeing is more that the item is just kind of a random collection of stats, passive, and an okay-at-best active, but none of it really works together. It's build components just kind of force it to try and compete with item 3027 and item 3152 but one's just a better stat-stick (as limiting as it is that you really do need to purchase it first to make it worthwhile) and the other's active is far more abusable, never mind the fact that they're both quite a bit cheaper.

With that said, it really shouldn't be a 100 AP item as it'll just fall into the same issue that Rylai's currently faces, that being that it'll be a near mandatory purchase when it was meant to be an item you opted into if you wanted certain qualities. I'd rather it get a buff to its active that separates it from being a poor man's protobelt, because really, that's what it is at the moment.
