POLL: Hardest role in the game

NERDSMASHER5000·7/19/2015, 12:17:02 AM·2 votes·1,757 views

My vote goes to ADC because positioning, being the prime target in fights, and being the single most important role for sieging/winning is a lot to handle. Also, tank meta isn't making it any easier to ADC.

What do you guys think?

(support isn't listed on this poll for extremely obvious reasons)

Support is the hardest IMO. The current jungle meta is more straightforward than it's been in the past making it a much easier role IF you play the in meta champions for it (otherwise you're in for a bad time). You always see people trying to give advice to raise MMR and the easiest way always involving "Hyper carry this", or "Hyper carry that".

You never see people recommend support as their way out of "Elo hell". The reason for that is the skillset required to master support champions is a lot less straightforward than other roles (as the jungle also has been, though more so in the recent past). When looking to raise your MMR in other areas you're generally looking at more specific and straightforward skillsets, objectives, and improvement techniques. None of these are as readily available for support players which require a lot of versatility and adaptability as well as the challenge of working with a lane partner (something the partner also faces).

Support isn't on the list, you dumbass.

i think support or jungle is the hardest. ward control can be extremely difficult

I love how Support isn't even on the list.

That being said, top is definitely the hardest because you really can't rely on anybody else on EITHER team interacting with you or the other top laner. Most of the time, you are alone and you need to outplay somebody to be successful.

ADC and support. Bot lane period. Firstly, they both have to have good positioning.

Tank supports need to be the front line or else yelled at. They need to engage in a good way, peel for their ADC, CC, and be a meat soaking body blocker for skill shots. Especially Braum.

Buff supports(Soraka, Sona, Nami, etc.) generally have to stay at the back line, keeping their squishies alive and peeling for them, as well as not dying themselves.

The ADC has to, as you said, position correctly, and they're the main ones for carrying through the lanes and taking towers. They also have to keep lane frozen or pushed so they can help their jungler get drag when he needs it, as well as pull lane when their jungler is waiting to gank.

And overall, the main thing that pisses me off whenever I play ADC or support, is the cooperation between the two. If they lose lane, both blame the other. If they win, all goes well, they continue going good, and carry the game. And its a lot easier for them to lose their wits than not, because y'know... League community. Make one mistake and its "WTF DUDE STOP THROWING!" "WTF NO PEEL?!" "DUDE ENGAGE WHEN I DO!" "STOP FEEDING!" and as most everyone knows, its mainly the ADC, and the support gets yelled at if he doesn't ward every single bush and possible gank path on the map.

your poll is flawed and incomplete. you've asked us a question, answered it yourself, and then proceeded to arrange it in a manner that best suits your personal opinion. is that how polls work these days? it's extremely obvious you're new to this game and have no idea how it works.

get back to us when you're ready to take this game, the people on the boards, and EVERY role seriously with questions like this one.

Still support and jungle imo.

Hardest role in the game is the one you play the least.

I'm going to say top for the main reason that it's extremely hard to carry a game from top lane, compared to other roles.

Fed addis pretty much go Fed mid can easily snowball biplane with some Jung help. Good kings get everyone fed Sups have the ability to singlehanded good top landers help their team by making the game a 4v4

The Whamboozler7/19/2015, 3:58:41 AM1 votes

My vote is for jungle. Top is probably easiest... with the least you have to worry about. Ward, don't feed, and fight your opponent. Anything more is just gravy. Mid has to concern itself with roaming more to help lanes and multiple paths to ward, but it's ultimately a 1v1 lane until the inevitable midlane teamfight posturing begins. Bot is obnoxious in solo queue where two people with barely any communication need to act in tandem... but mechanically it's not THAT hard beyond how difficult it is being responsible for another player you can't control.

But jungle.... hooooo boy. Jungle. The jungler has a TON to worry about. They have to be ever-aware of the map, plan their routes well, be wary of invades and/or opportunities in lanes for kills, keep control of objectives, assist multiple lanes, and if he does his job well he has more influence over the game as a whole than ANYONE. He also has to keep tabs on and possibly kill/thwart or counter the efforts of the enemy jungler, which means making a LOT of guesswork choices with incomplete information, or a lot of risky journeys into enemy territory to ward it up. Not to mention jungle changes every other patch.. adding new items, monsters, viable junglers, and the sheer variety of types of junglers that exist means jungler need more game knowledge than nearly anyone just to do their job adequately. He needs to worry about all four people on his team, shoring up the weak lanes or snowballing the strong ones, and making poor choices can really set his team behind. In high Elo where players are good at using advantages for all they're worth... his team might never recover. They're all going to blame him for the loss no matter what... even if there was nothing he could have done.

That said, actually clearing jungle mobs isn't hard... and in the current meta of "buy devourer and afk farm" it's pretty simple. But that's a fad. Jungle is hard in the sense that it usually requires a lot of smart choices, not hard mechanics, and I'm one of those people who thinks that a good strategy and a good ability to adapt that strategy should matter more than overly complicated mechanical skills and twitch-reflex abilities that test less your skill and more your internet connection. That kinda crap is for the FPS crowd.

Lauricella37/19/2015, 11:00:29 AM1 votes

jungle, because it is not always easy to focus on managing mana and hp, keeping your jungle warded/ counter jungling/ finding time to gank all lanes/ securing scuttle crab/ sweeping wards/ warding drag and so it goes on.

Chief Mayonnaise7/20/2015, 11:47:59 PM1 votes

Depends on what you mean by difficult.

For strategic difficulty, Jungle by a longshot.

For mechanical difficulty, ADC.

Expected a serious poll

Got a clown who's thick-skulled + biased poll

Good start for the day.

Bottom lane's the toughest. This means ADC AND SUPPORT. Having to work together with a person who you don't entirely know how to play with makes fighting in coordinated matters sometimes extremely frustrating or difficult. If the ADC is aggressive and the support is passive, or vice versa, it leads to chaos. Your ADC is your main source of damage, and your support is the main key part of your teams information/flexibility/knowledge needed on the map to make presses, or fall back. Your support is generally what keeps the team together.

Come back again when you're not dense in the head with biased polls.

31% winrate in 13 games, 47% kill contribution..Rrrrrip somehow being in plat.
