Essence Reaver is practically made for Sivir

... so I got fed early game by a lucky triple kill at a dragon fight and rushed Essence Reaver. The lifesteal, cdr and mana restore are all excellent for Sivir, which we all know has a nice poke with her boomerang (Q). So I threw a couple pokes out and was at half mana. I then auto attacked a minion.

I restored about 4 mana. Wow. Just wow. Boomerang costs 110 mana so I actually had to auto attack 35+ times to even restore enough mana to throw another (due to it restoring less mana if you have more mana). I just blew 3200 gold to restore less than a mana potion.

So rushing it sucks due to it not restoring enough mana, lategame when it does restore significant mana (about 50 if you critted with low mana) it doesn't even matter anymore.

It needs this in its build path: 700-1100 gold item, which gives +100 mana and restores 8 mana on hit

Completed item: 80 ad, 10% ls, 10% cdr, +200 mana, 16 mana on hit.

TL;DR should've rushed IE + mana potions instead

I think it was supposed to be designed for Muramana casters to help them keep their mana topped off for the active damage (ezreal and jayce specifically)

The problem is that the item just blows.

I saw a Sivir rush it in the LCS once. It was more for the early CDR and AD than for the mana. She actually won that game.

It was this season but before the black cleaver rework, I think.

If her rebounds procced it, it would be great on her. Sadly, Siv isn't allowed to have nice things.

Well the item does suck. Better to get item 3072 and item 3031 from that item 1038 because they both are much much much better.

The champion its mainly aimed for is Ezreal. I don't see it being any better on any other champion that poke with AAs. or AA like abilities.

item 3042 outshines item 3508 by late game with other mana items like item 3110 item 3025 item 3100 item 3078. All of which Ezreal blends well with (not item 3110).
