EDIT: From "Why was Sword of the Divine removed?" to "Sword of the Divine's removal has.."
Sword of the Divine's removal has inadvertently harmed Talon.
It was very effective on Talon. In fact, it was the only way, I found, that I could fight a lategame Zed as Talon and win. Obviously, Talon's damage isn't the highest. And that's okay, because he's a massive AoE explosive fighter. But, in the lategame, I find that we generally don't have enough time to set up a full, perfect combo, so I would yield into the Sword of The Divine to make sure my target would die.
With this items removal, I feel that a massive portion of Talon's single target performance, in the lategame, has been effected.
Please note: I am not mentioning his power early. His power in lane is Akali level once he hits six (Maybe not so high, but certainly close). I'm mentioning the lategame dramatic falloff that occurs when armor is properly bought (Guardian Angel, Randuins). The low damage AoE cleave simply won't cut it on high health targets, so I need to crit them with my pure damage build for intense damage.
Removal of SoD really weakened this, and it has left Talon in an exposed spot. In an ideal, perfect scenario, I will still kill the ADC (Not the AP middle; Zhonya's.) But, this requires every variable to be perfect. It was a hell of a lot easier to get done with the guaranteed crits..
Riot why.. :(
