Hey guys. I'm Grommi.

I'm a Talon main. Vel'koz is my most played champion in ranked, I know (I get thrown on support.. a LOT).

I average about 12 kills per game, even including my old terrible plat Talon days.

I'd love to answer any questions you have, or practice with you sometime. Talon changed dramatically with the removal of his silence, but it's not all bad. I can cover builds, starting items, strategies, and mindset that you should have while playing Talon, if you're interested!

I played Talon a little bit before the changes, but a lot after them. I mainly play him on TT 3v3, but every once in a while I play him on SR.

So first, a few questions. What is your recommended build? Does it include Tiamat? Why or why not? Right now my build is: item 3142 > item 3134 > item 3158 or item 3111 > item 3035 > item 3071 > item 3031 > and then either item 3026 or item 3139 or even a item 3102 depending on what is going on in the game.

Also, concerning match-ups, who would you say is Talon's biggest counter right now? And how on earth do you lane against a Yasuo?

Been trying him in the jangle, seems to work pretty good, the jungle warrior item has perfect stats for him and his ganks are pretty strong and can happen pre six.

How do you play vs Zed? He outdmgs me, outpokes, and outclears. I don't see how to beat him besides strategic backing, and outfarming him, which never works because his roams are better than mine.

Is it an issue of me being bad, or is he a counter?

It's funny that you say Talon doesn't have good AD scaling, I disagree. His Bonus AD ratios are quite good - 120% on Q, 130% on full rake, 150% on full Ult. That's a full 400% bonus AD ratio in his full combo, not to mention the damage amplification from E and his Passive. I don't think it's all that worth to buy BOTH Ghostblade AND Black Cleaver, unless the enemy team is REALLY stacking the armor. My preferred build:

item 3142 item 3074 item 3035 item 3031 item 3282 item 3026

The 40% crit chance makes it so that he can get a few crits in during his combo, which is REALLY nice. I also prefer boots of Swiftness over all others because move speed is so important on Talon, and I don't like losing that movespeed in combat as you do from Mobi boots. CDR boots are also nice on Talon.

Not looking for advice on the champ, since i believe i understand him very well, and he is by far my most played champ, but just a quick question. What match-ups do you pick talon into post-nerf? I've been trying very hard to find good ones, and have only been satisfied in 3 out of the 121 champions. In my own experience I've found that talon has an edge, albeit very small, against : lux, xerath, and twisted fate. Who do you pick him into, and is he better suited for the top lane now instead of mid?

What do you think of item 3508 ? I know if gets a lot of flack for being considered a lackluster item, but it does do damage, it has the ability to keep your mana high, and it can potentially bring you to the CDR cap. The biggest issue I see is when to get it, and where it fits in his build. Being a mana item, you want it as early as you can, but without sacrificing other items. Best bet is before or after LW, then closing out the black cleaver.

By mid game, with this item alone you're shaving off 1 second on W, ~1.5 seconds off E, and 6.5 seconds off a rank 2 ult. I think there's pros and cons to it, and CDR is extremely important on Talon, but just how important?

Why the hell did they remove his 1 second silence on E? That was good counterplay and the shortest silence there is. I mean look at Fiddlestick's silence. It bounces and does insane damage.

Since you're a Talon main who stuck with him even after the nerfs, I'd like to hear your opinion on something: what is your opinion on a Talon rework (because it is extremely likely one will come eventually)? What would you want kept/changed/added/removed?
