Balance is at an all-time high- More champions than ever are acceptable for their roles!

People like to complain that the balance team sucks. But, they're wrong - The game is in a better state of balance than it has ever been. The meta is extremely healthy and promotes a wide variety of teams / comps: Here are some examples:

TOP LANE VIABLE PICKS:

Cassiopeia DrMundo Fizz Gnar Irelia JarvanIV Maokai Renekton Rumble Sion Lissandra Kennen Hecarim Lulu Morgana

And this isn't even including picks like Shen or Trundle that are recently viable.

MID LANE:

Ahri Cassiopeia Diana Leblanc Kassadin Karthus Lissandra Lulu Morgana Orianna TwistedFate Xerath Viktor Zed Nidalee Ezreal

You could probably add Kayle and Azir into that list too, but I haven't though they're really strong

JUNGLE:

JarvanIV Amumu Sejuani RekSai Fiddlesticks Hecarim Rengar Vi Fizz Nidalee Pantheon LeeSin

This isn't even adding in the solo queue champions like Udyr that still excel

SUPPORT: Annie Bard Blitzcrank Braum Janna Nami Morgana Lulu Leona Thresh

Karma, Soraka, Sona in great spots but didn't add them to appease population [also if you think bard is bad I got news for you, you're going to be real upset in a month or two]

ADC:

Caitlyn Corki Graves Sivir Lucian Jinx Kalista Ezreal KogMaw

You can at least play eight different, unique champions for every role.

??

Balance is at an all time high wtf stop complaining

EDIT: This guy makes a pretty great post

snippet Katarina is extremely strong and hard to deal with at lower levels of play for example, but players feel like Riot does not care because she's not a problem in the LCS as people know how to deal with her. On the opposite spectrum, the idea of overloaded kits is discussed a lot and I think the worst offender right now is Kalista. She has much too much objective control and is one of the slipperiest champions in the game. With an ult that gives her support more leeway to go ham, free vision of the river, and uncapped damage on her rend, it is a bit much. Honestly, the Rend should be capped somewhere to make her less of a Dragon/Baron controller (as she can out"smite" a Nunu at this point).

I will agree that champion diversity is high right now, but players want the balance team to take care of a few problem champions that they don't like to play against. I think they will get to some of these champions at some point, but balance is difficult across all levels of play, and the balance team will get better.

I agree. We are heading in the right direction. I think Riot saw what happens when you buff instead of nerf in 5.5.

I'll agree with you. The recent jungle changes, and those they are planning for Hunter's Machete have made the jungle a better place for people other than fighters. There are definitely more ADC's than last season. Top lane has become the place for more carries instead of just fighters and tanks. And midlane has seen a lot of champ diversity. A lot of people complain about certain champions when it comes to balance though. Some champions have and have had extremely high ban rates for a reason. Another thing I'm seeing is that you are referencing the LCS I assume as you are listing the top picks there, but there are other levels of play that have made some people upset. Katarina is extremely strong and hard to deal with at lower levels of play for example, but players feel like Riot does not care because she's not a problem in the LCS as people know how to deal with her. I'll restore your post to equilibrium after the downvotes.

Yes, there is a much wider champion pool. But I still think we need a few nerfs, or several hundred buffs, and we can attain an even more fair balance.

You mentioned viable junglers and didn't even include LeeSin?

The problem with balance for me is that there's two different levels of balance - balance for normal champions, and then balance for "favourite" champions.

Specifically, "normal" champions (like Veigar) are nerfed because of counterplay issues, while ones that are generally considered to be extremely toxic and which everyone hates to play against (Lee Sin, Zed, Kalista, etc.) are barely touched, despite having far worse issues in terms of counterplay and otherwise.
