Mana Regen Items

This is more of a response post about Frost Queen's Claim; the item is in a good spot, but the problem is the other items are slightly underwhelming within the mana regen tier, so mid laners can get a gold item and not feel weaker than someone with morellos or grail, but they are also getting it for the twin shadows ghost active. I like mid laners having a playing making item with the ghost active, but not having a gold item meant for supports, there is an easy fix to this that does not entail nerfing supports at all.

Morellonomicon: Recipe: Blasting Wand (850g) + Fiendish Codex (800g) + Forbidden Idol (550g) + 600g = 2600g

Statistics: +80 Ability Power +20% Cooldown Reduction +150% base Mana Regen +UNIQUE Passive - Grievous Wounds: Dealing magic damage to enemy champions below 40% health reduces their self-healing by 40% for 4 seconds. +UNIQUE Active - Twin Shadows: Summon two icy ghosts that seek out nearby enemy champions for the next 6 seconds, if they find an enemy champion they attach themselves to it for the next 4 seconds granting vision on them and slowing them down by 40% (60 seconds cooldown).

Athene's Unholy Grail: Recipe: Chalice of Harmony (1000g) + Blasting Wand (850g) + Fiendish Codex (800g) + 150g = 2800g

Statistics: +80 Ability Power +20% Cooldown Reduction +25 Magic Resist +150% base Mana Regen +UNIQUE Passive - Mana Font: Restore 2% missing Mana ever 5 seconds. +UNIQUE Passive: Kills and assists restore 30% maximum Mana.

I did the math, and Grail right now is sitting at 2600 gold value (you already own a Chalice) when it has a price point of 2800 gold, mana regen is a really weird stat to try to say its gold value and mana is the same way unless you get other stats from it like Singed or Ryze. I did these changes with morellos and grail having near identical stats, their differences will be one will be a slightly cheaper play-making item and some supportive effects with grievous wounds and ghosty active while the other more selfish with the mana passives and magic resist.

The morellos change exactly is basically making frostqueens as the "baby version", where it (frost queen's claim) is very efficient for the role meant to get it (support), but weaker for a mid laner discouraging them from getting the item which keeps the gold item for supports only and mid laners have their own version without the gold generation so there is no unfair advantages between same match-ups (mid vs mid).

Great idea, although I still don't think it'd fix that item 3092 >>>>> any of item 3069 item 2302 item 2301 .

no it isn't greater - an AoE speed buff and shield with an AoE slow are still just as strong, but they nerfed vision so the vision on ghosts become a lot stronger

it will fix mid laners no longer buying frost queens, which was the point to this

Grain is more for mr and the increase effectiveness of mana regen.

Riot also won't touch core items of sertain champs with out buffing them but they will nerff Karthus for no reason.

I said that- one is for mr and mana passives, and the other for the twin shadows active and grievous wounds - so we can make the other stats identical so they get bought for different utilities

Riot needs to rethink their cooldown reduction again and what items give mana sustain I thinks it is all because champs like lux wouldn't be op this out mana items like item 3174 witch are to expensive for early game scaling. item 3165 is cheep enough to let champs like lux exsplode early game and still have no mana issues. If the ap was reduce to 50 then the item would be appropriate for this purpose but then lux and other champs would be hit this item being op is a result of preseason changes of no mana pots and will be balanced eventually.

What?

DID you not know item 3165 was a core item for lux and lux champs usally picked up a lot of mana potions.

Grail is what Lux would buy; you still make zero sense dude

I have seen people running item 3165 recently.

item 3165 has always been my mana item for Lux. Although I've also always taken at least one of the bonus mana masteries in whatever form they take and I very often build item 3100, giving some extra mana cap.

the problem is how bad item 2303 item 2302 item 2301 are. people will still use items like item 3165 to get the extra CDR, grievous wounds and the extra AP

that said, the now removed Twin Shadows was my favorite support items due to the stats it gave, the problem is there aren't enough AP CDR items as it's needed, as an APC, you need CDR? get item 3165 , the end.
