Which champion is in the worst state right now?
?
?
Jayce isn't actually in a very bad spot at all, I also don't understand how you could make a list and not include Yorick, most people forget he's even a champion.
That's a different type of bad state though. I don't think it's fair to include a champion who has no chance to work well before a rework, would rather focus on those who could do well but just don't.

Every champion in this game has reasons they could do well. Some just don't because Riot intentionally keeps them weak, or keeps pushing the meta in a direction they can't be successful in.
Not really, Yorick's kit is so deeply flawed it cannot work reasonably well, unless you were to buff him to an actual, like an actual broken state. Juggernaut patch Skarner levels. Then we have cases like pre-rework Poppy, who shouldn't do well, again because of the kit's flaws, and I don't think it's fair to count those cases in either.

Uhh, Riot intentionally keeps him weak because he's a pain to deal with in lane and his ult is broken late-game.
There's a reason Yorick is LCS meta any time he's in a decent state. You don't remember Yorick top, jungle, support when he was decent at any point, letting any ADC carry games?
His kit isn't flawed, its too good. The free damage buff+damage reduction, in addition to his chasing power, sustain, and ability to turn any 5v5 into effectively a 6v5, adding 5k+gold value (10k+ later in the game) at any point to his team makes his kit far too powerful if its anywhere above 'underpowered.'
Honestly not a big watcher of competitive games. I try but just end up playing Fire Emblem instead :c Soo, we add him to the same category as pre-rework Poppy then? Is that fair to count in as well when talking about champs in a bad state?

Eh, not really fair to include Yorick, no, since he's the same deal as pre-rework poppy.
But Vlad, Ryze, and Rumble are all contenders for 'worst spot' atm. They all can function and are not kept intentionally weak, but do not have the ability to succeed in the majority of cases. Part of the reason Ryze and Vlad are getting reworked yet again...the only way to make them 'in-meta' again would be to buff them to over-powered levels. Rumble's nearly the same deal, but his ability to only successfully function top lane now, which consists of a lot of hard counters atm, severely limits him.
P.S. Charlotte+Oni Savage (Skill+, Mag-) Avatar gives you 3 broken Berserkers, even if just using an upgraded hand axe for 1-2 range without penalties, albeit no crit. Only other contenders for their consistency of power and ability to handle situations is, yet again, Dark Mages. Especially Nyx if you build her right. Her personal is so obscenely powerful if you build around it.
That I agree with, those 3 do need love right now. All the love.
Also I wasn't expecting pro tips, much appreciated c:

yorick should remain in that state, he was easily the strongest top laner in his prime

I also want to make the honorable mention of
, who were rightfully nerfed into the ground, but still manage to be pains in the ass because their kits are just that toxic.
And what's wrong with Syndra?
And what's wrong with Syndra?
Her performance, despite having wave-clear and pick potential is still extremely sub-par?

Illaoi just has hard counters.
Eve isn't really that bad at all right now. Its just that damage isn't a consistently successful engage mid-late game anymore since most champions being picked are 90% damage-focused already... This limits her ability to succeed in a lot of games. However, Eve, Ryze, Rumble, and Vlad all get honorable mentions in any 'bad list' right now because ADC DPS renders their kits largely ineffective due to how quickly fights are decided now.
I think Eve is in a fairly bad state right now because I often see up 2-4 Maws per team, plus frequent Sterak's, and her sub-par assassin damage just can't cut though that much defense.
I'm assuming that "state" means kit relevance and viability. Which is why I referred to the few "worst" and had the honorable mentions. To be more specific, I'm not referring directly to their performance.

illoai was released that way

Honorable Mention:
Aatrox has far too many counters to be viable. The introduction of easy-access Grievous Wounds just sealed the deal. He has no favorable match-ups in top lane, and in the jungle he's basically a worse version of Yi.
Teemo's lane phase isn't nearly as strong as it used to be. He gives Gnar and Tryndamere some trouble and that's about it. Everyone else just buys
and Teemo becomes useless. Not to mention that after level 9 he doesn't have an ultimate. His annoyance factor is grossly overstated compared to the likes of Quinn, Graves, Fiora, and Naut.
Fiddle's a case where a few simple kit changes would go along way (in addition to some new dialogue, but that's not a balance factor). His passive is barely noticable, and the rest of his kit is extremely unreliable. His only redeeming feature is his ult, but unless you've done well for yourself, even that is hardly applicable in a teamfight.
Illaoi actually. Jayce is decent, he was even played in one of LCS games recently against Varus mid and did great. Morde and Aatrox are kinda weak, but compared to Illaoi they are gods.
Its actually between
and
.
Surprise.
Aatrox is currently the champion in the worst spot hands down, his base damages are awful, he lacks any form of real utility but most of all Riot has stated that they are not buffing him, he will not be touched until he receives a rework. At least Yorick can win lane and ult his ADC lategame. Aatrox is just a pile of shit.
Pretty sure skarner is at the top of that list. Back when the juggernauts were released, he was supposed to be "a brute force in the jungle capable of both taking and dishing out powerful hits". Then he received a giant nerf a few patches later (possibly because riot decided that they wanted to be specist against scorpions that day) and combined with the overall preference to early-game impacting jg's (nid/elise/lee sin) as well as udyr being way better as a farm-jg and there's zero reason to use him. While yorick may seem bad, his ulti combined with his W actually gives him a ton of utility in teamfights and forces people to constantly keep track of his whereabouts on the map. With skarner, you can literally stand over one node on the map and make him 90% irrelevant for any sort of fight.

I play a lot of Skarner. He's plenty powerful, even without nodes. You can 1v1 kill an Ahri who has ult, after you just get Warrior, by just walking at her. How many Melees without an instant gap-closer can say that?
The problem might be that you're getting cinderhulk, which is a terrible item atm.
Skarner is plenty powerful atm. The issue is that many people don't know how and when to utilize his strengths. Hell, most people assume he can't fight without nodes, and you're the perfect example of that.
DRAAAAAAAVEN

I would say Olaf and maybe rumble. Olaf is pretty bad in any lane right now compared to other champs.
