Champions usually have higher bases of a stat they don't build into. For instance, Zed has higher base armor than Shen, but Shen has higher base AD. Because in-game, Zed is building the AD, and Shen the armor

Why?

Is it a problem?

Otherwise, why the fuck do you care?

It is a problem. This guy has absolutly no mana problems

Then say that in your fucking post.

Also, is it a problem that he doesn't have mana problems?

What's the point of having mana if you're not gated by it at any point? To provide a fringe case for building Manamune?

Does it make him overpowered?

Otherwise there is no point in changing it.

Garen and Kata have no mana problems either. It doesn't make them overpowered.

It doesn't matter if there's a point to him being gated by mana or not, unless it is actually a balance problem and making him too strong, there's no point in needless nerfs.

It's not a matter of him being overpowered or underpowered due to his mana costs. It's a design philosophy. If you're going to implement a system that's supposed to provide a limitation, what's the point of it when that limitation is never met?

In the case of this thread, the author is pointing out that he has the highest base mana regeneration, and that his costs aren't relevant. If his costs aren't relevant, then he's able to execute more combos and do more than actual champions that are, surprise, gated by mana.

That IS a problem. It's also a problem with Camille and Fiora, as they can engage on you and continue to perform combos, going potentially even, and then outlasting older champion's / champion's with more expensive combos mana pools. This forces their opponent to leave lane, as they can't fight back at that point, which starts to snowball the lane in their favor, all because the limitation imposed on them, mana, is never completely spent.

Who gives a damn. Honestly. Who gives a damn about design philosophy if it literally does not affect in game balance? Or playstyle/thematic problems?

Yet, surprise, he still isn't overpowered. So nerfing his mana costs and consequentially buffing his abilities to compensate would be a stupid choice that is easy to fuck up, and also completely unnecessary.

Yet the champions are still balanced, even against those with mana problems. As they say, if it isn't broken...

If you don't have blue buff, then you run oom FAST!

newer champions are pretty much resourceless. it kind of started with fiora rework. then it gotten worse. worse and worse. camille might as well not have a mana bar. same with kayn. a lot of these champions don't even consider mana as a stat because they have high base mana. high regen. and low mana costs.

meanwhile you're jax. you use EWQ. you have to pop a corrputing potion because you have like 30 mana left xd. camille spams W off cd and she doesnt even get corrupting to start with

am not sure what riot is doing. but might as well remove mana from league at this point lol

kayn and no mana problems? holy shit what kayn are you playing, give it to me

Why not?

He has the second highest base mana too (410) just behind Ivern (450). His mana per level is a bit below average though.

He's strengths are early but he's weak later on. That's why high base mana regen and above average base stats in general.

Rexxiee1 votes

Because new champs have to always have mana to use spells, newer mana champs are basically resourceless, i mean look at camille mana costs.

Kai Guy1 votes

That's easy to break down mathematically. The in game regen = Kayn + Rhasst regen.
