I might give up playing Vladimir

Because too many champions outclass him.

I recommend continuing to play him if you like the character because in my view he has never been stronger (except in the early MYMU when you could go Tank Vlad and still out damage everyone else).

Outclassed?

  1. Free sustain and no ability costs (mana or energy)
  2. Tons of AOE damage that's easy to aim and spammable in the late game (Tides of Blood has a TWO SECOND cool down at 5 points with the right items, it has 100% AP ratios)
  3. Extremely OP Ultimate that is super easy to use compared other Ultimates... instant cast, AOE effect with a massive radius, damage amplification for the whole team, complete with an AOE nuke detonation that reminds me of a Zed Ult... AND healing (because why not?)
  4. Super safe laning phase (can be blind picked into nearly ANYTHING), you can get hit by more skill shots than other champs and still stay in lane because you have free healing and no mana costs (and if things go bad? Blood Pool)
  5. God-like late game, at that point he has easier access to the backline than actual assassins because you can take so much punishment
  6. You get free HP and AP (extra) from items

Whenever I play Vladimir I feel like a God.

Other meta or competitive Mages feel like they are powerful, skilled, or resourceful sorcerers but they are mortal. Vladimir though, feels like he's on a wholly different plane (if you get to the late game).

There's maybe two or three bad match ups in Mid now in laning (Casseopia, Fizz, Ekko) but their late game is absolute junk compared to Vladimir.

Literally the only way to stop Vladimir is to defeat his team in 15-20 minutes and/or pick specific OUT OF LANE cc-heavy tanks to stop him (and they have to be played by smart players)... ex Warwick, Shen, Gallio, Rammus etc

Because otherwise at 3-6 items, and with Ghost and a Proto Belt (plus all the free sustain, the Blood Pool), nothing can stop him from getting to the backline.

Otherwise its a free game if they don't win by 20 minutes more often than not.

You should have given up on him years ago then.

This. Vlad was in a bad spot for so long.

I had to be significantly better than the other laner in order to even be allowed to participate in the game for a pretty extended period.

Who is Taliyah1 votes

I have the same feeling about Taliyah. There are many better choices like Orianna, Twisted Fate, Kassadin, Syndra and many more that are just much stronger.

The main reason I keep on playing Taliyah is that she is super much fun and I want to make her work. As long as she stays the champion she is right now, i'll never stop playing her, even if most of the roaster outclass her.

I hope you feel the same about vladimir.

A champion should not solely be picked because of the strength he possesses. The main reason we all play this game is fun. The main reason you started playing Vladimir is that he is fun to you, right?

maining a champion isn't playing them because they are OP, it's playing them because you have some other reason that will keep you playing them through thick and thin.

Well all the Vlads I've played against carry their team and never die maybe you arent building or playing right? I played Darius and did very good in lane but late game his heals were crazy half health to full so I'd keep playing him and try to improve
