Voicing my frustrations with this partial "ranked reset"

I know that most of you won't understand my pain, but can I just complain about how bullshit it is that I have been demoted to the rank I have been stuck in for about a month (Diamond IV) that I JUST GOT OUT OF for, honestly, no reason?

If you don't know what happened, basically all diamond+ players got demoted by one division in order to balance out the ranking and mmr system.

That really sucks for someone like me, who has been working their ass off with countless amounts of hindrances (trolls, careless teammates, toxic flamers) and FINALLY just last week I reached Diamond III.... only to be put right back in the hell hole I came from that is Diamond IV. I can't stress how bullshit this is. I don't abuse the ranking system, I don't flame/troll anyone, and I don't like to be a mope, but this is so goddamn frustrating that all of my hard work was just tossed out the window.

If they wanted to balance out the higher ELOs, then fine. But could you at least give some sort of LP boost for the "lower" ELOs that were hit (e.g. Diamond 3 and 4)? Seriously considering just dropping this game for now... I don't want to fight another long battle like this again.

They did, it's called MMR. Your rank dropped, not your MMR. MMR determines LP gains and losses. If your MMR is still D3+, then you will climb out of D4 faster (not to mention have a lower chance of being matched with/against D4 players).

The reset was simply to quickly shove the players that didn't belong where they were down to the ranks where their MMR should be at. This only means that they will be unable to climb as they spaghetti and lose consistently since they aren't there due to their skill but rather due to ranked being bugged.

For players who did belong where they were, this shouldn't really affect them too much. It's a minor hindrance, but since your MMR is retained, if you win those games at that MMR, the LP you will be gaining will be significantly boosted. Additionally, losing those games will have a much less noticeable impact on your LP since you are playing at an MMR higher than your actual rank.

It's okay, this is a common misconception, one seen brought up in almost every "why am I facing plat players in my gold games reeee?!" posts. You're gonna be matched with players higher ranked than you (or at least similar MMR), so you're still on the climbing side.
