Kata did have a rework a while back. I can't actually remember when that happened, but I think it was before Trundle too.
Jax too, yeah. Jax was like Ryze. He went through a million reworks.
Sejuani actually had one before Trundle as well despite being a relatively new champion back then.

Basic VGUs - those in which the champion's core theme is still there and its basic kit is still very similar to the old one, despite the fact that the champion is being changed. Ultimately, it still looks like the old champion. Examples include 
Full relaunch - those in which the champions is completely changed in every possible way (new lore, new theme, completely different kit). It looks like it is a new champion being released and the old one is essentially being deleted from League. Examples include

Doozku1 votesIf you think about it, there hasn't been a true "delete" rework. Almost every rework kept something about the old kit. (Sion's exploding shield. Yorick Ghouls, Taric's kit is also a modern version of his old kit.) Riot have said that Galio will be their biggest rework yet, so we'll have to see there. I have a feeling that it might be an actual deletion of old Galio. As for poppy being poppy at her core, idk if that's true. Her playstyle is completely different and she does things completely differently to old poppy. Just because she has the same style of abilities, technically every ability can be described as either offensive, defensive, cc, utility, or mobility. Still doesn't mean that a tank is the same as an enchanter, they both do completely different things.

Out of all of the reworks, Poppy's is definitely the one that took the champion in a widely different direction.

he really does, Voli's current kit definitely didn't age well. His abilities outside of his passive and W are abysmal. I think that the fact that his W and passive are good is the reason why the rest of his kit sucks.

I didn't address every issue but I think this would be a good start to making him feel better to play and easier to balance. I want to do something with his E but I can't think of anything that wouldn't just feel extra.

SpecterVonBaren2 votesI don't think any kind of small scale changes can fix Nidalee, they've tried that for the past three years and it failed every time, she needs a Sion level rework that tosses almost everything from her kit aside from her theme of being a woman that turns into a cougar and using javelins as her weapon with everything else being built from scratch.
I think a good change for Udyr would be to give him a way to max out all of his abilities at some point during the game, like... maybe at level 9 and 18 he gets an extra ability point.
Teridax681 votesRiot did experiment on letting Udyr max out his abilities. From what I understand, it's promising, but currently the way they're going about it is letting him reach level 20, which is a fantasy that could perhaps be more appropriate on another champion. Personally, I think he should just get an ability rank-up point from taking Baron and Elder Drake for the first time, which would let him max his abilities out, still stay at level 18, and do so in a manner that would fit with his theme and gameplay.

Meanwhile, for supports, the role itself is the problem more than individual champions. That's something that can be worked on little by little with system changes, and doesn't specifically need a full-scale class update to work on it.
