Buffing Xin seems like asking for trouble honestly

I wouldn't bet on it but I could see him being good against some ranged tops.

I suppose, but he has no real escape mechanism and runs out of mana fairly quickly. If you are going to take a traditional jungler top you are better off with Jarvan.

lojician3 votes

Reason people don't take jarvan top is because despite poking well and doing well in short trades he doesn't have meaningful sustained dps if he fails to burst something down. So you can eventually just automatically all in him with normal top lane fighters.

I agree...hes already very durable in jg now hes just going to have a quicker early game!

How to buff Shyvana according to Riot:

A whole 0.5% health as magic damage!

If they have 2500 health, this means... 12.5 EXTRA DAMAGE

Chris Dandy4 votes

if you think about it, it means that 4 auto attacks will deal 10% of their HP instead of 8%, which actually is quite a buff. her Q also damages 2 times, so that's 5% instead of 4%. I believe that she'll have an easier time dueling with these changes, both early, mid and late, and attack speed is now even more baseline on her.

:O cant wait to see how the extra mana on sion's e effects him. OH WAIT IT WONT EHEUHEHEHEHEUHEUE

Except for the fact that if he spams it he will go oom fast.

All Sion needs is a frozen heart. Press E once "maxing e" then use you're broken shield damage and there goes half HP.

Thefriendlyorc3 votes

So instead of building an HP/aoe damage item or a banshee's veil to go against Lissandra/Kennen up top he now HAS to buy a Frozen heart. Its not a bad item but I dont think Sion of all people needed that much of a tweak.

Oh darn, I was kind of hoping they would fix Sona.

I don't know if I'd call any of these ideal changes, but you'd be hard pressed to find reason why they weren't at least in the right direction.

Can't really say that Sion's changes are very good given that his Q is practically useless against competent opponents.

lojician4 votes

Sion's going to be fine after this but it is pretty funny that he was riot's first change this cycle. Apparently they were thinking "Ok, top lane is pretty fucked up right now. Know what our first order of business is? We think sion's laning is too good. Oh and I guess we can nerf that professionally perma-banned top lane mage's q by 5 damage per level."

I guess they didn't like a melee champion being able to out-lane their ranged cancer despite having counterplay oozing out of every one of his skills.

Sion is currently a lane bully and can spam his E a lot more than Riot seems to like. I think thats fair considering his high winrate in top and how much of a bully he is when he probably shouldn't be.

Bahahaha those Nidalee changes. Don't worry guys, the trap that never killed anyone still won't kill anyone. I'm glad her heal, her low-CD extremely spammable poke, her free execute, and her free spammable escape are balanced.

L7xLoTek3 votes

Those Skarner changes... I mean, I'm happy they're looking into him, but... yeah. How about dropping the mana costs a bit?

Chris Dandy3 votes

I personally think that the changes to azir is something that he is in need of, even though there're still some things that could be changed. As an Azir main, i can say that the nerfs he recieved made him too weak to even stand on his own feet, but with an extra 50 range on his soldier's auto-attacks, i feel that he is going to be at least a lot more viable now. Even though the Q (which is pretty much only used to slow and reposition now, except of a more burst based spell in the early game) is a bit weak, i believe that it is needed. Any changes i want to see? I believe a change on his E ratio should be changed. I like the fact that his max health scales the shield, but there's absolutely no reason to get more than 1 item which increases his health (RoA and RcS). i believe if they increased the health ratio a bit, or atleast make it increase with AP (like 0.15 AP ratio or maybe 0.20) would be a great change for him, so that he isn't a total pounching bag, if he decides to do a play with a tasty Q-E-Ult combo. Overall, i am looking forward to be able to play him again.

still no nerfs for riven and zed, and still no significant buff for veigar. i don't like that much this puch.

I really have no issue with these current changes. However I feel the direction league is taking with nerfing anyone who might have an edge in the current meta is counter productive. I understand people may find the game less enjoyable with kassadin deleting your adc off the map and than blinking out. But a lot of the current nerfs are directed in the wrong direction. It's sad how at the beginning of the season there was so much champion diversity and whenever a champion finds a place in the meta he is quickly nerfed out. I think it would be so much funner to have 15 viable jungle picks rather than 3 or 4. The only way to do this is not nerf the champions that we feel are OP. There only OP because there counterparts in the jungle are under powered. Buff champs don't nerf.

The changes on Nidalee are a fucking joke. And I thought they were going to buff Nautilus. Instead they nerfed his damage and reduced slightly the CD and mana costs. That is BS to me.

Dude, oh my gosh. This is a huge buff. They HALVED the cool down and reduced the mana cost by 20. His E now can be reduced to a 3 second cool down. They also buffed his tankiness and (not listed here) made the jungle tank item more in his favor overall. WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT?

I find the CD reduction on the E useless except for farming and he farmed quite well already with his W. In teamfights, having the E every 3 seconds (and that considering that you already got a 40% CDR) doesn't mean much with that small damage (it wasn't even very damagy before...) I agree the new tank jung item is going to be good for him, but the changes to the champion itself are clearly a nerf. Though I understand they want to avoid turning him op with the new item. But the changes are a nerf (even if overall he might benefit from the patch)

Insanity 1012 votes

He'll be doing a lot more dmg now. Most people will now max e first and will serve as a constant AOE dmg source in teamfights. It's MUCH more reliable than having his W as his main dmg source becuase his W is usually just destroyed becore he can even fully utilize it. And he'll do even more dmg with that new jungle item.

He'll also have more CC, seeing that he can use his e more than once in a teamfight now. At the same time they increased his tankiness.

IMO this is a HUGE buff to Nautilus.

The also cut down the slow time on his Riptide by .75 seconds, so it's just a hair above a second for a slow. It loses damage and utility for "spamability" and a lower mana cost. It's basically just a weaker ability. I'd call it a nerf overall.

Not Tahm Kench2 votes

Gragas Needs different changes. Sure the extra mana is nice but they really need to increase the damage reduction time by 1 second or so. He is not in a terrible spot but he has a tough time with the popular top laners now. I feel like riot wants to push him into the jungle. With the recent changes. They could also lower the time it takes his q to reach full damage by .5 or 1 full second, it still gives people enough time to react to it. Or they could make it so his q gains damage based on the time you let it ferment with the 2 seconds being maximum. He needs a small buff but I am glad they are trying something with him at least.

Some changes are silly. Some are helpful. Some are weird. So this pool Yes/No is kinda bad.

I really hope mages could get some nice item that could cover hole of dfg. But that doesn't need to be done asap. Just maybe before we hit patch 6.0 :)

This Kassadin "buff" is like taking a perfectly competent cross-country runner, breaking one of his legs during a race, and then a few minutes later handing him a pair of crutches.

In two patches, he's lost a total of 200 range on his ultimate. He's still Riftlimping everywhere.

You may think this. However, with 40% cooldown reduction, his "Ult" has a 1.2 second cooldown and now it can go over every wall. And a visual update to him to which hopefully comes out this patch, so

Yeah, with an exponentially increasing mana cost. Have fun throwing away all your mana.

Urgot actually exists? who is this and what did you do with the real riot?

Eriryu1 votes

Urgot is fine. Im personally slightly cautious whenever I see one on the enemy team. I dont know where the stigma of him being useless comes from, but I think he's more than viable, unless hard countered. But hard counters are hard counters for anyone.

For one i never said urgot is bad. never said that. the joke is that in riots eyes urgot basically dose not exist when you mention him every one just kind of goes quiet and waits for someone to change to topic.
