Can We Promote Mage Bottom Lane Again?

It was nice to see some variety in Bottom Lane when Ziggs was used for early tower rushes and because he offered enough sustained damage in team fights to be considered a DPS threat. I feel many Mages who are currently considered strange, oppressive, etc. in a solo lane environment would be cool to see if given an ally and against two players instead of one. See: Azir Cassiopeia Ryze Syndra Taliyah Viktor Vladimir Ziggs

I think all of these champions would be really cool if changed to be more viable in a duo champion environment since most of their issues either stem from what happens when they go against melee champions or being to zone a single enemy too hard. For example, Azir is oppressive in Middle Lane when viable because he zones enemies far too hard early game due to his soldiers. However, if Riot made players want to play him Bottom Lane, he couldn't zone as hard since it's much harder to focus down two enemies at once with his soldiers since they can only attack one enemy at a time unless he divides his attacks between them or they are horridly positioned.

Just an insight from me, someone who wishes Bottom Lane's balance had more depth than "who's the best Marksman as of now"?

supports are where the real botlane diversity happens. Your bot lane play style almost completely revolves around your support.

Got Leona? You are probably gonna do a lot of engaging. Got Nami? Gonna skirmish a lot. Got the Zilsta? Farm till 6 then go ham as fuck trying to burn as much as you can before they murder you. Then you come back and finish the job.

While i do agree that having mages in the bot lane was interesting and really opened up the midlane to go more AD heavy since there were mages in the bot lane, they do have to be careful. Because ziggs was actually oppressive as fuck in the bot lane. He could go toe to toe with pretty much every ADC and killed towers waaaay faster. That is a worry because mages are usually pretty decent in the early game. One of the few examples where an ADC is godlike early is Lucian.

Also when you push a champ to a new role you have to major kit changes and adjustments that can damage their identity.

Morde for example doesnt really have an identity anymore after what riot did to him. And im afraid of what that might do to a champion like Viktor.

Riot cant just say "this character should go bot" and people will listen. They have to do redesigns to get them bot lane.

The best way to implement this for riot to prepare like 4 NEW mages (not reworks) and release them at a preseason update and have them all designed for the botlane. But we all know. After a bit they wont be there as riot intended.

Mages don't trade well with marksmen.
