Given the "Revisiting Subclasses" done by riot recently

Does that mean we should expect champions who were evidently redefined by riot in their class updates to be again addressed in their new respective subclass, or avoid class updates due to falling into a class which has already gone through that hell? The most notable Rengar Slayer -> Diver Orianna Controller -> Mage Ekko Skirmisher -> Assassin Skarner Tank -> Diver Nocturne Diver -> Assassin Evelynn Diver -> Assassin

Maybe more, but I didn't notice them. Feel free to add more cases in comments.

I mean, the whole "subclass" division of champions always seemed extremely stupid and superficial to me. These champions have a few aspects of their kits similar, but generally had extremely different strengths and weaknesses. I see no reason to try and categorize them all together, other than an attempt to create a "standard" archetypal design, bringing all the champions who got subjectively classified as one subclass or another towards that standard. Even though you still had stuff like anivia (called a controller) placed into the MYMU and LB who was in the Assassin Update now a burst mage. Or why ALL of mages were in a single mid season update, where as Assassin (a subcategory of "slayers") and Juggernauts (a subcategory of "fighter", but also the first class update) were separated from skirmishers and divers respectively. Though, enough of my rant. Question ^^^

it sounds like riot is not doing big class updates anymore, they'll just be targeting specific champions that they think have problems that need to be fixed.

Well that's a pretty shitty deal for of the cases that got shafted in the class updates.
