People need to stop saying "Mobility creep" is the reason to the game being unfair

Literally, so many immobile champions are played everywhere. EVEN in LCS. So mobility creep is gone it's dead, stop talking about it. League of Legends is in the most balanced state is has been in a long time. Thank you.

I actually agree with this. I mean the priority bans are tanks right now which i don't remember its ever been. Being able to play almost any champ without being flammed is what makes this season the best.

I actually never see lb banned considering she is not a threat in the current meta. Besides that, the most played tanks have always had mobility. The reasons tanks are banned now is because lanes are becoming balanced to where mid laners don't have to be focused in ban phase.

Nasus with Flash Q Though. So strong :)

they ban sejuani gragas nunu? or reksai? or maokai? or gnar? or rumble? i think only rumble has no mobility.

Mobility creep is in the reverse because immobile champions are being given grossly inflated power (comparatively) to compensate.

Shit like Lee Sin is actually legitimate bad without abusing massive mobility.

Pretty much this. The only immobile champs that see play have absolutely ridiculous numbers, because that's the only way to justify playing them. Otherwise the most banned champs are:

  1. Very mobile tanks (has to have an ESCAPE; can't just be an engage gapcloser)
  2. Solo queue stomper assassins
  3. Immobile champs that are so ridiculous in their numbers that they are worth picking. So pretty much Cassiopeia, Jinx and Ashe.

Mobility creep is still a problem.

But I do agree that league is in the most balanced state it has been in a long time.

Boooo, op. Boooo.

Seriously, mobility creep is about the only reason that many older champions see nearly zero play. Of the less mobile champions played most recently, the majority are insanely hard to kill tanks with heavy cc that have come to dominate the current meta (due largely to the addition of Righteous Glory, which, surprise, gives them the mobility they need to be relevant again) and the rest are immobile champions with the heavy dps needed to kill those same tanks.

It's actually funny because mobility creep is the very cause of the current meta, as it was the meta before that. It's not considered a heavily domineering design flaw for nothing, and even Riot has admitted to it directly. The challenge was, what to do about it.

Thing is, League is currently all about its competitive scene, because that's where the money and publicity are at. And what draws spectators to League? Flashy plays. People love flashy plays, and flashy plays require mobility. There's nothing flashy about smart positioning or out-strategizing your opponents. Overloaded kits with tons of mobility are exciting to watch. Doesn't have to be fun to play as or against, those guys are getting paid. It just has to be fun to watch.

Seen any good Skarners recently? What about Darius? Or Anivia? Brand? Maybe Galio or Mordekaiser? Even Singed is mostly absent from solo queue because of his own lack of blink skills. Olaf is another very strong champion who is rarely even seen EXCLUSIVELY because of his mobility issues. They even recently buffed his ultimate to try and BOOST that mobility so that he could actually fulfill his role as an initiator.

Seriously, the introduction of Righteous Glory is the sole reason you are seeing Alistar played as a support again, I'm fairly certain. It's a must-buy on just about every immobile tank initiator in the game right now.

It's not that mobility creep is over. It's entirely that they have created an item to allow older, less mobile champions to buy their way into it.

Every champion you named save Darius and Olaf has a win rate higher than 50% though.

Probably because the only people playing them, play them extensively, and get to be really good with them. There's a reason many consider win rate to be only a loose indicator of power level, and one of those reasons is that the fewer people playing a champion, especially if the majority main that champion, the more skewed the statistic will be.

Mordekaiser players top lane average over 50% with him in their first 1-5 games with him. Same with Singed. People who take Galio top are almost overwhelmingly fairly new to the champion, with nearly half of the recorded games being with players who have only used him 1-5 times.

Where on earth did you find that statistic? Not saying you're wrong, just saying that's an oddly specific bit of information to have, and I haven't the slightest how you would go about getting it.

Singed and Galio aren't actually bad, they just aren't meta due to mobility, or lack thereof rather. I personally like Galio a lot, though typically as a mid. They are also mechanically very simple, which can lend to a warped sense of strength in solo queue.

champion.gg separates champion stats by things like player experience with the champion.

Have you seen the new Champ Ekko? He has CC comparable to control Mages (when it comes to teamfights it's easier to land than you think), and yet he has massive mobility because he is an "assassin," when all assassins who have had hard CC like that have been nerfed when they had just a fraction of the CC (Leblanc's Sigil, and Talon's Silence he used to have).

So when you have an assassin (Who is really a control mage) with GREAT Mobility because of his ulti and E, then you have a problem with mobility creep. Those two things should not go together (Control mages + assassin = OP and makes for toxic gameplay, not interesting gameplay which Leblanc and Talon has taught us).

The mobility creep is not just about "meta picks," but it's also A LOT about what Riot is doing, like releasing champs who are mash ups of too many roles and are extremely difficult to balance without being toxic (we don't need another Yasuo (not for the CC but the overloaded kit part), or Silence Leblanc/Talon who has even more CC and even more overloaded abilities)
