Play Strong Champions Against Him

Champions with easier to hit stuns and roots help against Zed. Malazahar is strong especially since he can also deal lots of damage along with it.

When You Can, Build Appropriate Items

These items can help you against Zed's burst damage with shields, invulnerability, and straight up removing his ultimate. Quicksilver Sash and Zhonya's Hourglass help especially.

Get Good Summoner Spells Against Zed

Getting certain summoner spells really help for Zed. Barrier can help if you believe Zed will take Ignite, Heal if he doesn't. Exhaust helps a LOT! If Exhaust can allow you to beat Zed, you can kill him. Summoner spells help in the late game, but shape the early game. Flash is Flash. Mobility is really good.

Zed poops on Lux, either by killing her over and over early, or by forcing her into a terrible defensive items build early, then pooping on her late game anyway.

I would agree with you but you fail to provide a reason as to why he poops on Lux. Lux roots him so he can't use his R escape and his W. This way he can't do much for 2 seconds which is enough for Lux to kill or put Zed out of combat. Lux also has the range to harass Zed out of lane unlike many Mages.

Zed poops on Lux because he has the mobility to dodge all of her skillshots, he has tons of base damage while Lux relies very much on scaling, because mana regen is really crappy right now, and because a huge portion of Lux's damage comes from auto procs on her passive which puts her in dangerous range considering Zed is a mobile assassin.

You can try to outplay him but you have to consider that Zed can throw his WEQ at you 7 times in 2 minutes and with a dorans ring you'll only regenerate about 230 mana in that same time frame. With her mana costs that allows Lux about 3 spell casts compared to 21 ability casts from Zed. All the while he's passively pushing lane and you're struggling to farm under turret unless you want to waste mana on every minion wave with your E, which also causes you to oom quickly.

So sure, dodge his full combo 7 times every 2 minutes without going oom, come back to lane with equal CS and a seekers. Except now Zed has a brutalizer so you're back at square one anyways with no extra mana regen, so enjoy dodging his full combo 7 times every 2 minutes again. Because if he lands it you're chugging pots or recalling.

Work as a team. Don't just shrug and give up on him when he vanishes. Watch where he goes and keep on him if he starts attacking someone else nearby. Zed is mostly a problem when he can engage everyone on the other team individually (see also: Akali).

just learn leblanc and bonk him when he tries to bonk you. leblanc bonks harder than zed.

What the heck is this? All of a sudden people are acting like Zed is now a friggen ebola outbreak when he hasn't changed in a while. For crying out loud, he's too safe, talk to Riot about looking into his shadows, don't act like you're being oppressed by a straight forward assassin. Play safe in lane and deny him kills, it's not that dang hard.
