Considering that players dodging and matches being of lower quality when autofill is active (since it is likely that ~2 players in the game don't actually play their given role), that isn't much of a consolation.

TerranHybrid2 votesIt's one of the hardest roles mentally. As a Support, you shouldn't, and almost never will, have an epic Kill/Death ratio. Supports job isn't to kill everyone. That's the ADC's job. Your job is to help them get there.
It took me some time to get used to the heat. If anyone other than my carry whines at me I generally ignore them, because their failings are very rarely related to anything I'm doing. As as Support, my job is Vision Control and protecting the Carry. Keeping my eyes open for incoming ganks, ect. A support player can feel good about the little things more than other roles, like saving someones ass or setting up a good kill with a timely CC.
If your Support is feeling down, remind them that it isn't their job to carry the game. It is possible to commit no mistakes and still lose. That is not a weakness. That is life. :)

being shit talked by your adc when youre trying your best to keep them alive multiple games ina row, slowly takes down your wanting to support. many games of abuse from multiple people will also slowly degrade this. just because you are perfectly fine with being shit talked, doesnt mean others are.

Mute button exists for a purpose. If you can't handle the heat, press the mute button and save yourself the grief.
If you are so weak of heart that the opinions of someone you likely never will know or even play with again can bother you so terribly, you have a problem we can't help you with. I would recommend thicker skin and a sense of humor to deal with them if you can't find the mute button.

Honestly I think more people should just play support and not be afraid of the glory that is playing soraka or braum or taric or something and basically making your team infinitely better than they are on their own.

But i don't think i can compete on diamond level as supp. Sure i could go leona or braum or thresh and be kinda on the safe side but i actually have no idea what to do exactly in teamfights, i don't have runes for it i don't have the right builds. So i'd rather dodge than ruin 4 other people mmr.

I rather not, I still have PTSD from those days. Sure it was fine in Diamond plus, but anything below that, it was a 50/50 that someone would just mid/feed

Either take fill and accept it or wait longer, but let us have the damn choice, otherwise the new championselect is pointless.

As a support main this is incorrect, I gave up supporting for the fact that if your adc cannot adc, you are fucked as well, had an adc who went 0/8, i was the support at 2/3/7, he was always out of position, never listened to my pings to fall back when my wards clearly showed the jungler is right there, cannot read enemy movements, come on the raka if just walking up to us, it's bait. I hate playing support, adcs are too full of themselves and when top is feeding, mid is feeding and your adc is crap, that demoralizes the team, at top I usually get 1st blood and if my bot lane is filth( which is VERY common) I can come down and help them out.
