A Tank needs tools to take aggro , protect allies and TANK damage they don't need 12% Max HP damage like ORN A Marksman needs to do sustained slowly ramped up damage, be fragile , have ways to siege A Mage needs to do aoe or burst single target damage , control the battlefield way of path the enemy take ( Ziggs E), BE FRAGILE do some moderate cc A Support needs to either PROTECT allies OR ENABLE kills for his team BUT NEVER DO DAMAGE A Assassin needs tools to be fast get to his target and deal burst single target damage, NO CC, BE FRAGILE , NO INVULNERABILITY ( akali shroud ) A Juggernaut needs to be a raidboss always, BE SLOW , BE TANKY , dangerous if he gets onto you, KITEABLE

Problem with league right now is that this simple concept is out of balance, right now EVERYONE does crazy damage, and if everyone is dying so fast that means all you need is characters that do that damage even faster meaning slow tanks are unusable.

As soon as a support can protect an ally, the enemy will complain: "muh me-kan-a-kuhl champ"

if a tank has no damage at all then no one will focus them and just ignore them

tanks have high base damages that dont scale well so they can have some threat and be motivated to build tank

here are Ornn's damage stats for this patch plat + all regions with the rankings of his damage out put vs all champs

Physical Damage: 6,226 63 / 142 Magic Damage: 8,196 64 / 142 True Damage: 253.01 141 / 142 Total Damage: 14,676 104 / 142

so please tell me how someone who has 63rd physical and 64th magic damage out of all champs and 104th total damage out of all champs is doing too much damage ?

So what's the purpose of tank? To be so tanky that the other top laner (or jungler) can't kill him and get a lead on him and carry the game?
