When someone doesnt understand how to even deal with yasuo don't tell them to play a counterpick

If they knew how to play they'd be using it anyways

Ask them what champ they play and give them options and expected results.

also a few general things

No, do not rush item 3157 against yasuoo BY DEFAULT. While there are a few champs that want to do this they are by far the minority, especially at low level. You build item 3157 if its an extreme threat like Yasuo + Vi otherwise you are just gimping yourself and even among those that get item 3157 regularly there are few that actually flatout finish the item during lane phase. Again that's an extremely situational item with only moderate level's of AP.

So what does one want to build against a champ who can't push without items and wastes your mana and cooldowns.. well how about mana and cooldowns instead??? item 3165 this busted item is actually very effective against yasuo though this also sortof gets the job done item 1056 item 1056 item 1056 but obviously there are some reasons you might not want to do that unless it gives amazing advantage.

again, don't just give a counterpick, if at all. mention what it is about that champ that counters him perhaps but these people wouldn't need help if that's all it took.

Another thing these people need is to understand what to do after the wave is pushed as its going to get or when they get zoned. You don't have to touch the tower and you don't have to stand there like an idiot just because there's 2 minions left. And most importantly, you aren't going to lose lane just because yasuo pushed minions under your tower and attacked it! You CAN go to base early as soon as you get gold for whatever you need.

There's a lot more to it but this halfassed "just counter him" crap needs to stop already

Well...Yasuo doesn't have a true counter pick when it comes to mid lane matchups. He either counters you completely or it is an even matchup, there's simply no counterpick. Yasuo will never be in the fucked up situation as Talon is vs Swain for example.

Lissandra? Chogath?

Lisandra Maybe, but still...medicore Yasuo will be able to beat good Lissandra.

Cho'Gath yes, but how often will you see Cho'Mid? Yasuo is fun to play, Cho is not, you will see Yasuo more often than Cho which means that Yasuo is gonna ruin more games.

this is actually a good thing, riot doesn't support counterpicking and it really is bad for the game.

It doesn't matter if yasuo has no counters at all as long as he doesn't too strongly impede one's ability to drag the game towards a favorable conclusion which he does not.

A lot of players don't even have a strategy for laning that they are aware of. Like even if they have one they don't know what it is. Its kindof ridiculous. Same people who don't know why duotop isn't a thing.

Well you can't count of laning strategy at all simply because a wast majority of LoL's playerbase belong to some kind of LOW elo and are still learning. I was platinum 3 when I played rankeds before I got my Job and believe me, Platinum 3 is LOW ELO where most of the people literally SUCK and don't have even a clue of what strategy actually means, a Platinum 3 ADC would get 3 extra minions after I ganked his lane and killed enemies rather that rushing a Drake. I remember my promos for Platinum 2 where enemy got Darius and my teammate "Counterpicked" him with Yasuo and got annihilated.

That's the main reason I think Riot should seriously consider counterpicking instead of just thinking about strategy simply because strategy works only in Diamond 3+ and that's also questionable. My best friend was Master tier last season and I its not like I was once in his house watching him play in Diamond 2-1...dude, even in Diamond some guys simply suck.

But, talking about this is simply pointless because Riot doesn't care about anything but LCS so they will always put strategy in front of counterpicking.

they actually put strategy before counterpicks for everyone. Its a matter of game design. Counterpicks are antifun
