From A Balancing Perspective, Creating A Non-ADC Meta Is Super Difficult

It's not like Riot wants it to be that way, it's just super hard for them to actually do something about it.

You either would have to nerf the support/marksman combination so hard that it is unplayable or buff something else so hard that it is super overpowered and outclasses all marksmen.

The last time they tried to change something about the stale botlane Meta, reworked Mordekaiser happened. To know how shitty this rework was, you just have to look at a list of Malicious Metal's posts.

I'd rather have marksmen in every game than have something like this ever happen again.

Lies

all you have to do is to make melees able to lane against ranged botlane, with mutliple options

nerfing the base ad of ranged adc buffing creeps, fixing their base ms buffing doran shield to be able to block 20 damage like in dota2

A lot of ranged champs are able to siege, like ziggs or twisted fate. ADC aren't requiered to do this job, they just bully hard anything that isn't ADC when it comes to botlane.

Doesn't Dota 2 have a turn rate thing or something to combat this?

How does that work?

dota 2 has turn rate

but dota 2 doesn't have hyper-mobile-ressourceless/low mana cost melee champs that are core to fight ranged champs

in league, almost every melee are like this to make them able to compete with ranged adc kitting that's why we don't need turn rate, except well juggernauts that have to rely on their allies to cc the enemies.

Wait, then wtf is Juggernaut and Antimage?

Just curious because Dota 2 doesn't seem to have the "new guy" problem that often. Where a new character is introduced with a mechanic that can heavily effect gameplay and ends up being a popular mechanic for other new guys.

?????

didn't know that juggernaut can dash every few seconds anti-mage is like the exception of the rule, very unique due to his blink that costs a lot of mana until late game (due to anti-mage base mana).

literally 99% of melee are immobile and kitable ember spirit has a dash on clones, but it isn't used as mobility (cause it takes too much time to be able to dash) but used as a preparation to escape

ursa, wraith king, sven, spectre, melee trollwarlod, and the list goes on.

The real problem is, ADC's are simply workable with the XP deficiency, all because they mostly rely on AAs and are more item dependent.

In the case with Mord, Riot tried to cheat the xp gap, and give Duo lane mord, Solo lane xp, Which put him on the wrong side of oppressive. The other thing riot decide was they simply needed to work on the infrastructure to allow alternative botlanes, saying messing with a champions kit alone wasn't working. (Though Mords uses of the Relic shield line was close.)

Personally I would think that Skirmishers would be their next strategy. If ADCs can work with the XP deficit, a melee ADC would be close, you would just need some way to average out the melee, range disparity.

I disagree.

If you reduce the amount of late game scaling ADCs have, while at the same time increase the amount of mid game power they have, increase the power of ranged AP and tanks against towers and objectives, make SOME mages (mid range mages) better at DPSing tanks and reduce the overall survivability of "bruisers" (darius volibear olaf)

you will have reached a state where ADCs are no longer a must have. Olafs can be killed by mid range mages, towers can be taken out by the support and the AP. Only if "true tanks" appear on the other team will there be a need for an ADC.
