Ahri is getting nerfed. WE DID IT BOIS.

Almost certainly needs a nerf. Direction not certain yet, two main ones being considered being higher Q mana cost (hit waveclear/pressure early) or shifting damage from W/R into E.

(I seem to have made some Ahri fans mad at this post) I do agree the nerf should of been on the movement speed, but Riot seems like they have other plans.

we did it? i don't remember doing anything

i remember the board mindlessly complaining about ahri, is that what you consider "doing it"?

anyway 2nd nerf is unneeded, ahri's problem right now is laning phase, and 1st nerf is nice

She has long deserved this, many people of the community have fought to get this Fox nerfed since years of her being strong.

This year being the most of course.

i don't know what you can't understand riot can't give 2 shit about what the board complains about, meddler already talked about ahri months ago and how she was on the radar, and now he's nerfing her

the board didn't do anything and they didn't even help him to know how to fixe ahri

ModAcademy Kayn2 votes

Every single Ahri post sums up as "Ahri has 54% winrate, nerf her!" without actually saying what's wrong with her.

Ahristocats1 votes

i know what the ahri posts were like

they don't have a single clue of ahri's problem ahri right now can't lose lane unless massively fucking up, meddler talked about Q mana cost and potentially Q cd increased and that's good

i hope he doesn't change anything with W/E/R damage

Its that she is to safe for how much she offers and has, it is difficult to gank her, she has poke, sustain, single target burst, and mobilty. Have this is ok, her dmg isnt insane or anything. But she is to safe and that makes her difficult to punish for mistakes. Thats it make her punishable and she wont be as strong or op.

ModAcademy Kayn1 votes

Yes, and that would make for a decent post. The posts in comment though never say things like that, only "This champ is X winrate, needs nerf" with no actual discussion.

Heh, you act like you were struggling in the trenches.

robotmaster3 votes

Dude these people actually think them complaining did something. Let them think they got a win so they can shut the fuck up about ahri.

Hèntaî 2 votes

One does not simply stfu about a champion that dont know how to play against, nor do they want to take the time ot learn counters against.

Darth West5 votes

I know how to play against Ahri perfectly as she used to be my main.

But her mobility is ridiculous.

ModAcademy Kayn2 votes

Mobility that's on a 110 CD, with a static 1 second CD between dash? I get that it's good, but other people have lower CD, more on demand mobility that can be used for roaming, jumping walls, and escapes that don't include blowing an ult.

Thats cute if you think Riot's decision to nerf her has anything to do with boards Remember that this is the vocal minority

Troll for Trump2 votes

If they didn't care about boards, they wouldn't be posting, or asking for the Boards' opinions on certain things.

They do listen to the boards, they just act on their own accord.

ModAcademy Kayn2 votes

It's like picking out fancy cheeses, you got to know which is the bad smells, and the good bad smells.

Hèntaî 5 votes

But Ahri is one of the most balanced champions in the game? Why though?

Darth West7 votes

You forgot the /s

Hèntaî 2 votes

I honestly dont know what "/s" is XD

Darth West5 votes

/Sarcasm.

She's not balanced, even Ahri mains tried giving a reasonable nerf to her.

Although Riot kinda ignored them on the nerf the people asked for.. So I can understand why they are upset non the less.

Hèntaî 3 votes

Ohh, I was not being sarcastic. Imho I think she is one of the most balanced champions, you can downvote me all ya want but my opinion will still stand. I mean, there are a lot of other problem champions that make laning far worse for you than she does. Ty for clarifying /s btw, had me stumped lol.

Chønklord19 votes

She's sitting around a 54% winrate with a massive 20% play rate.

That's INSANE. Do you understand what that means?

Hèntaî 1 votes

I do understand what that means. She has been in a good spot for a while, and in my eyes that means she is a pretty balanced champ. But what good is an opinion on these boards? Hell, I bet if you were to see a rise in Urgot or even Annie, you'd all be saying the same thing.

Darth West6 votes

Urgot is being reworked, no point talking about him. Annie doesn't have 3123021021010 escapes including a movement speed buff without hitting anyone.

So no I wouldn't say anything and I never complain about other champions normally until I notice they really do have a issue.

Hèntaî 3 votes

Well Urgot and Annie was supposed to be some sort of an example. Im not going to try to push my point any further cause I know its a waste of time due to people on these boards being so deadset on what they think and/or hear/see. My opinion shall still stand though.

What do you want people to say, that a 54% winrate with 20% pickrate isn't indiciative that anybody with half a brain can pick her up and do well? My go to ban these days has become ahri.

Chønklord6 votes

I don't think you do;

Sitting above 50-51% winrate with a whopping 20% of the player base playing her, indicates that she's over-tuned and over-performing regardless of elo.

Compare that for example to Fizz, who currently sits at around 50% winrate with only 5% playrate for mid, and around 46% for top lane winrate.

Or you know, someone like Singed who only has like 0.43% PLAY RATE and barely reaches 48-50% winrate depending where you look. That means only diehard OTPs or Mains play those champs, hence their inflated win rate numbers.

Case in point, someone with the name "Ahri Ever After" just locking in Ahri right now in a ranked queue I'm in.

Hèntaî 3 votes

No. Just because the winrate is a bit higher and playrate are higher does not always mean a champion is overtuned. For all we know, it could be her build path/ item changes that have come that made her get to where she is now. Fizz, while I cant believe his playrate is that small and wr(Ive seen him quite a bit over the last couple of months) is overtuned. Be like Mozarilla and dont be a butt because someone doesnt agree with you.

Darth West3 votes

Well technically, even Riot disagrees with you in a way.

They are nerfing her.

You called her "Perfectly balanced"

Not trying to be salty but she's not balanced at all

Hèntaî 2 votes

See, I like you. You are nice. I never meant it in perfectly balanced, sorry if I made it seem that way. I meant it as she has been in a good spot and isnt the most over bearing when it comes to laning against her(Some may say otherwise).

Darth West1 votes

While I do agree she's not the worst problem currently, it's a step in the right direction to tone her down. (Still a big issue among all elo's)

I've noticed that Ahri has lately began to be a pick-ban issue now. (Always has been, lately it's gotten worse..)

I've banned her 3 times in a row and the 1st time I stopped banning her she was insta picked.

Hopefully her nerfs that are coming up are in the right direction, that will satisfy the Ahri players as well.

Hèntaî 2 votes

I see what you mean

Hèntaî 2 votes

My opinion was due to me not having any issues with her and knowing her kit almost like the back of my hand. But I guess you are correct with the pick or ban. Havent seen her instalocked in though, only fizzypop lol.

Now I will say I miss the E amp assassin ahri. Now that was some fuck shit right there. XD

Chønklord2 votes

Just because you "feel like it's this way", doesn't mean the facts agree with you bud.

They don't.

Also just because I don't conform to your notion of "proper debate replies" doesn't mean I'm being a "butt". Maybe you're just being overly defensive/sensitive.

Hèntaî 1 votes

Dude, you are being rude becuase you dont agree with me. You sir are being a buttcheek. Im trying to state an opinion and because you dont agree you say I dont understand and you try to throw "Facts" around, ill listen to the OP but not you ya bonobo.

Chønklord1 votes

Feel hurt all you like; doesn't change the issue at hands nor the statistics to back up the issue of Ahri being a little too strong across too many elo levels.

When you have a champion that can be played by 20% of the population and still have over 50% winrate, that means they're just too good at what they do while still being easily played by even novice bronze players.

She needs some more counterplay fixes, that's for sure.

Hèntaî 1 votes

Who said I was hurt? I stated my opinion on her and you took it to a whole new level. You all can downvote me all you like, but again... I dont think she is as broken as a lot people make her out to be. If you dont like that then move on and quit yer whinin' about stats and "facts". Good day to you sir.

Shuyin1782 votes

Meanwhile Lee Sin has a 40% pick rate, where's his nerfs that will actually impact his gameplay? Because that's not coming in the next patch with a baby -5 movement speed nerf and a +20/10/0 cooldown nerf on his ult.

Chønklord2 votes

Those are fair nerfs and will significantly impact lee sin in the early game.

Shuyin1781 votes

Because that .01 seconds you show up later because of the -5 movement speed was a crucial thing even though you still have 2 other forms of mobility.

The ult cooldown nerf will be felt a little, but Lee doesn't need his ult to make plays so it's non-existent.

Chønklord2 votes

I mean, the nerfs aren't even out yet and you're complaining they're not going to be strong enough to make a difference. How about we wait and see how it impacts lee sin after a week or two; then we can come back and debate if he needs more buffs or not at that time, eh?

Linna Excel1 votes

20% play rate is fine. Less than 2% ban rate is fine. 53% win rate is a little high, but not oppressive.

Chønklord1 votes

There's nothing wrong with any of those numbers in a vacuum; there is a huge problem with those numbers combined together.

Linna Excel1 votes

I disagree.

Even though she was common and had a highish winrate, she never had that big of a band rate so people didn't really care about playing against her that much. Basically she never got to pick/ban status.

Chønklord1 votes

You don't have to have a high ban-rate to need balancing changes. Ahri needs balancing changes.

Zone of Endless3 votes

I still dont know why they wont remove the move speed bonus on Q. She doesn't need it as it only give her more safety in lane pre 6.

Keevalroy4 votes

You do realize how hard (virtually impossible) it is for them to say "we were wrong to do X" and revert it right?
