UPDATE: After seeing people accusing me of upvoting my self, raging Yasuo people, saying "Fuck Yasuo and shut up OP" I can happily say these people are way worse then Yasuo will ever fucking be.

Sometimes people ban not based on a champ being OP but on hating a champion's kit/existence.

Balance is only part of what makes people hate Yasuo. The rest of it is...well... read the forums and you'll see. People really seem to either love playing him or hate his existence.

Honestly no matter how annoying/"OP" Yasuo is, I'd take dealing with him over any mage.

Though back on actual topic, it's a mixed bag. Some Yasuo mains are actually decent people who just like his kit and want to play the game, while some others... are what a lot of people perceived.

I'd actually feel bad for them because I've been avoiding League because of Lulu's banrate. I guess another excuse to not play once 10 bans are out, sadly.

I disagree with the OP. Never in my life have I met a non-toxic Yasuo main. It happens frequently that I have to dodge games because Yas got banned and the main gets pissed off and trollpicks.

I don't ban yasuo myself, there are much more important things to ban (ex. lulu, lucian if I don't have fp).

yasuo hasn't been op for awhile. he just has a cancer kit to play against for anyone who relies on projectiles and/or is immobile. hes just frustrating.

Yasuo, Lee Sin, Zed, Blitzcrank, Fizz, Camille, Evelyn, Tryndamere are all in this class.

It doesn't matter if they are op, people hate fucking playing against them.

Yasuo has mobility, damage, and shits on projectile/immobile based champions. Lee Sin has damage, mobility, sustain, a strong form of cc, soft cc...just frustrating that its up to the lee player not you to pick your fights. Zed not only shits on immobile mages, but doesn't have a resource so its frustrating going oom since you have to rush armguard. Blitz is the classic "you missed 10 hooks, but landed 1 so now i die instantly" champion. Fizz/Vlad/Lissandra can be maddening with zhonyas as they feel they are almost permanently untargetable in team fights once they get them. Camille will take any immobile champion out of the game if played properly. you literally have to stand over a screen a way and wait for her to blow her shit on someone else or she will constantly dive you and kill you. Evelyn has very little counterplay if she can manage to get even one or two good ganks off. She is balanced by the fact she has hard time doing that, but holy shit an eve who is even slightly ahead is cancer as she will blow you up out of nowhere which limits everything you can do. Tryndamere not dying for 5 seconds means he can dive you if ahead and you need to be able to win without your CC so hard that you can cc him during ult to win after it runs out and even then often he just spins away.

none of those champs besides maybe Lee and Fizz are "strong" right now, but man are they frustrating to play against. this is why they will always be common bans or just hated. tryndamere and eve are the only ones I don't see banned ever on that list.

Champions with high ban rates are generally just hated champions. People dislike them as a whole and hate them being in their games, either side. I ban Katarina 100% of all games I get the chance. If new Kat was deleted, I wouldn't bat an eye. Many people feel that way about Yasuo as well. The fact that so many people feel so passionately about hating these champions point toward design issues. Until the design is changed, that will never change.

Anivia is literally ruining my games but people keep banning Yasuo out of biased hatred. I'm pretty sure I hardly lose to the guy, but people are even willing to ban Yasuo if one of our own allies wants to play him, it's freaken ridiculous.
