Tank Armor Items Are In An Absolutely Horrid State

Not just because of the amount of anti-armor or the stats they provide, but the effects they provide are INCREDIBLY weak, especially from a defensive standpoint.

item 3742 No defensive purposes other than stats. Stats provided are simple and not very useful for Tanks.

item 3110 An entirely stat based item that provides an anti-attack speed aura. Provides no health and is only bought because it's one of the few Armor items that grants CDR.

item 3025 Is honestly own used by those who abuse it. Provides no defensive purposes.

item 3109 Decent Tank item. Stats are poor, but the active and passives are actually useful for a Tank. Good job.

item 3190 Another decent Tank item, as it's active gives a Tank everything they want. Stats are meh, but it's still decent. Perhaps it's a reoccurring theme that all decent Tank items are made for Tank Supports? However, you won't be buying this for the anti-physical damage portion.

item 3193 The last decent item, but it's not a good Armor item as the stats it provides against a single opponent are poor and the active is useless. A good item, but once again not for the anti-physical damage portion.

item 3047 Good Armor item, but whenever it's good it gets nerfed due to it's nature as a Boot item that anyone can purchase without much loss.

item 3143 Decent item, but it's incredibly awkward to buy if the enemy team also needs to have Grievous Wounds applied to them. The active has been nerfed a ton too since it's original days. This item has really become a shadow of it's former self from back when it briefly slowed enemies that attacked you.

item 3800 Decent, but no defensive purposes. It's honestly more of a Fighter item, but I might just build it on Tanks because the stats it provides are great. If I want to reduce physical damage this isn't gonna help too much.

item 3068 This has no defensive purposes at all besides stats. The aura is good, but it's not what you want to be doing as a Tank. Only ever bought because there are no better options on Tanks.

item 3075 As stated before, awkward to build with Randuin's and the passive portion of this has been nerfed a ton to the point that the damage redirection part doesn't hardly matter, it's only there for Grievous Wounds. It counters Bruisers more than ADCs honestly. Decent anti-physical item, but only because it provides extremely high amounts of Armor AND still gives some Health. It feels awkward (again) to buy against enemies who don't rely on basic attacks though.

item 3050 Tank Support item, decent but not for the reasons any other Tank would want unless they have a partner and specifically an ADC partner. Next.

item 3512 It's a sad day if this is the item you buy to help to against the enemy physical damage.

Now let's compare this to Magic Resist items:

item 3001 Not the best for anti-magic damage, but the healing and extra mana sustain it provides is really great if you are a Tank that spams spells.

item 3194 Absolutely insane for stopping magic damage that isn't burst, which is often the kind that carries games these days.

item 3193 Still good.

item 3190 Still still good.

item 3065 A signature item for an incredible amount of Tanks as it boosts many of their main defensive mechanics by a solid 30%, often off-setting the Grievous Wounds given to those who rely on heals.

item 3050 Still decent, but only Supports.

item 3512 Same as before.

Maybe it's because the pool for Magic Resist items is smaller, but the few Magic Resist Tank items we have are all extremely solid where as most Armor items usually provide only health and armor and then provide few if any defensive purposes. We have so much variety, but honestly most of it is solid garbage on Tanks.

resistances don't really matter right now honestly.
