When you know riven is already "riven" in the pick phase.

RIven: Need ganks against Nasus. I cant win Me: WTF. You win by default since lvl 2. RIven: Not really ;)

...What the hell you mean by "not really". The only reality is that you proved you cant even use your own champion and came to ranked. I hit the dodge button so fast I saw that emoji. Please learn how to combo if youre using that champion.

Or at least be worth being toxic by being OP.

As some one who played both riven and nasus in the past, she is right. She weill have lane preasure early(unless he goes E max), but she can't really prevent him from stacking up underneath the turret, and once he gets some armor and his ult, it's game over for riven. With jungle presence, you can actually dive him early and get enough of a lead to stay dominant in lane for a long time. Also, since riven will be most likely pushing in vs nasus, she becomes quite vulnerable to ganks(if he goes for a trade, she either looses it or uses her Q, which is her main escape and early on on a high cd and wither is a bitch), so haveing your jungler around for counter ganks helps alot.

Either she is manipulating me to come top, or cant win. EIther sucks.

Tbh, Riven was not wrong. Sure, lvl 1-5 is very easy for Riven, but it's also certain that a Riven vs Nasus lane WILL get ganked so it's hard to exploit the matchup to it's fullest. Even if you do not gank for her, their jungler will. And if both are equal at lvl 6 then Riven will lose due to Nasus R changes, itemization changes, Riven R nerfs and mastery damage nerfs. It's actually a tricky matchup and Riven won't be able to 1v1 Nasus most of the time post 6 so she will probably look for invades with her jungler/roams/bot TPs to be useful.

The good thing about early ganks in this matchup is that it's likely a 2v2 - and Riven is more useful in an early 2v2 so winning that can snowball the game.

Erm...I thought that the strategy for riven to win against nasus is to freeze and zone him out of the minions so he cant gain stacks. And as jungler its my duty to ward control that freezed lane to not compromise this pick.

This is a flawed scenario. Why do I have to have the precondition that she getting ganked? Every lane is under that threat.

So, how does Riven freeze the lane? Nasus won't touch minions aside from getting lasthits/stacks. So if you go for lvl 1 punish you push the lane due to autoattacks. Same for lvl 2. You'd need a 4 minion lock to properly at your turret to properly punish Nasus, but setting it up won't work from lvl 1 on. Now, the trick is to set this up for lvl 3 without risking to get ganked at minute 2:40 - and also without getting cheesed at lvl 1 (depending on the side, if their jungler is red side he could go for a lvl 1 gank). You could obviously try and go for a hard shove lvl 1/2 so the lane pushes back to you and you immediately ward 2:38 or sth so that you lock the lane at your turret. But Nasus may go ahead and skill E and try to freeze the lane by forcing Riven to waste her Q on him so that he sacrifices HP for wave control.

Lane control is kind of hard, although Riven should be able to get it, it's certainly not an easy thing. And even if it works Nasus will just go for this new strategy and put some points in E to reset the wave. Being able to perfectly freeze the lane very early against Nasus without risking to get ganked is not that easy assuming the Nasus is decent. And even if you manage to do it their jungler might come top just to fully push and reset the lane, ensuring that Nasus will go even at 6.

Isnt pushing the wave and making it bounce back enough for this? And, if nasus put his points in E he wont efficiently stack constantly, be weak to all-ins and be suspectible to ganks by pushing and be trash at his strongest time in midgame with a non-levelled wither. Therefore riven has done her job already.

I thought the reason why E build nasus never was a thing was due to a LOAD of problems.

Nasus won't stack all that efficiently early anyways. Early it's more about lasthits/xp than about stacks. And again, if Nasus sacrifices some HP he can hold the lane with E making Riven vulnerable to ganks.

It is a thing, I think Quas established it. It's much harder than Q max Nasus - and while Riven should win against Q max Nasus things can easily go south as I said earlier.

E nasus doesnt work unless you build attack speed, attack damage, and critical. then it's pointless to use because of mana constraints.

W and E are just buffs for his basic attacks. W slows so that you can get close enough to punish your opponent and E reduces their armor. Q does physical damage and heals for a portion of the damage with lifesteal. nasus's entire kit is literally a 1 hit wonder. that's not necessarily bad though. chogath is the same way.

I think there's a lot of matchups that don't really go how you would think they would. I thought Rumble would oppress Nasus for at least the first 15 minutes, but at level 6 he all inned me and flashed out of my ult, was behind for a long time until our team grouped and won.
