Perseverance vs. Insight

give me one good reason i would want increased base health rgeneration when im already far in kill range for the enemy, vs 15% reduced cooldown on my summoners (especially summoner 4 ).

the health regen doesnt even persist until youre relatively safe again. when it turns off at 25% health youre still very much threatened and are not gonna stick around in lane or anywhere near an opponent to benefit from it.

not to mention, you can buy regeneration and defense if you need it in form of items, but the only item that provides summoner spell cooldown reduction is item 3158

imo the mastery needs a buff to take effect below 40% health instead of below 25%. it should at least help you sustain you back to a point where youre not finished off by 1 ability.

right now there is 0 competition between those 2 masteries. summoner spell cooldowns win hands down every time, unless youre heimer maybe.

since the mastery is in the defensive tree, maybe it could do the same as meditation and regenerate a % of missing health instead.

I suppose it's all based on preference; Some people don't mind their Summoner Spell cooldowns the way they are, and prefer slightly more lane sustain.

Other than that, consider this - - You're not going to get more than one of the same Summoner Spell off in one fight, or possibly even the next. Perseverance gives you persistent in-combat advantage, if only slightly (we're talking at least 15 hp healed in a fight, and at least 100 hp between each back during laning phase; Don't underestimate health regen).

tl;dr If you find yourself burning through your Summoner Spells like tissue paper on a sick day, Insight is, without a doubt, the mastery for you. If you want more hidden power in fights, go for Perseverance.

Perseverance, as well as second hp regen mastery are completely worthless and should be replaced with real defensive masteries

yea, recovery is weird aswell.

20 second teamfight/in lane "wow, i regenerated 8 health". honestly, even compared to the lvl 1 health pools, this is kindof pathetic.

almost all the offensive masteries scale properly into lategame. its either % damage increases, % spellvamp/lifesteal, or something else. in the defensive tree, about half the masteries scale, and the rest is only noticable at lvl 1 to 3 or not at all.

that's the problem i've been always talking about, this game goes further and further in direction of damage since season 3

If you're a tank, Perseverance is useful. For example, if you have 4,000 HP, when you hit 1,000 HP, or 25% of your HP, it will activate. It also gives additional lane sustain against poke champions, especially if you're an HP stacker.

Because you're Darius and your base hp/5 is absolutely retarded.

Heimerdinger look up his base health regen. and darius is pretty flash reliant and has in combat sustain built into his kit. he doesnt need it.

50% base health regeneration is still pretty weak of a bonus. the mastery is only really notocable when 300% trigger. but below 25% health doesnt help you a lot.

I think it's pretty good on Soraka . You can use it to let yourself get away with healing your ADC more. And if it only getting you back to 25% HP isn't enough, then use some charges of your refillable potion. Or just play very safe in lane for a while, since she can get away with doing that in a lot of situations.

But I don't think it's worth using on any other champion. Sure it's useful on some but still not as good as the alternative.
