https://imgur.com/tVtDbsf Before you common on "oh this guy's mmr is very high", take a moment and think about why the system haven't matched this account's rank with its mmr after quite a few games played(enough to get promoted).

Some people intentionally dodge a lot (losing LP in the process) to avoid promotions for the lulz of being a low rank despite their mmr.

I have a bronze 3 account with gold or so mmr currently if I'm super bored, but doing all the dodging required to keep my LP low is kinda annoying.

Rito can easily just force you to promo if they want, but they don't give 2 fuck about the system.

I mean sure, they could, but ranks only matter for ranked rewards and nothing that actually matters anyway so theres no real point to doing so, as staying low rank in that manner only harms the player (they miss out on ranked rewards).

They already changed it so you can skip promo series entirely if your MMR is sufficiently high, making such silly accounts even harder to maintain.

Why should they? The point is, players are matched against similarly skilled player, not similarly ranked players. So everyone can have a fair and balanced game.

If some idiot thinks it's funny to have a low displayed Rank, why should Riot bother about that? As long as this idiot isn't ruining some actual Silver games, that's good.
