This is why I hate Ranked

Wish I had the chat, but I don't so I'll just try to recount it all.

It all began in champ select, where we had a duo simultaneously call "ADC Only" and "Brand Support." I don't really mind it much, as long as they play well and are tolerable. I just let it slide. I was second pick, and stated that I prefered JG. Third pick wanted it, so I asked what was left. I told everyone that I wasn't very good at mid, but I still gave third pick jungle and hoped I could hold my own.

The game started, I had picked Kayle and ended up laning against a Talon. The first few minutes went fine, until we got into a little skirmish that ended in me giving up first blood. I hadn't realized he had ignite... but that's beside the point.

At this point, I got a bit of constructive criticism to stay further back and just farm. I went to lane, and farmed around the middle of the lane.

With Ekko Jungle assistance, Talon landed a few more kills on me. He was starting to get fed, but I managed to pick up a kill botlane with teleport and then die to Talon (again.)

At this point, whenever I came up to CS he would jump on me and kill me. This left me with very few options, so I was just trying to stay under tower while picking up minimal CS.

Up to this point, my team had been relatively helpful in trying to get me to win lane. At about 12 minutes, the constructive criticism changed to destructive.

My team would tell me to farm and not roam and not fight, but then I'd get flamed for farming instead of fighting. I spent the rest of the game swapping between farming and fighting with the team and getting flamed regardless.

By the end, my team was asking the enemy team to report me for feeding (which in itself is punishable, I know) and flaming me for being a bad midlaner. Even the person I gave jungle to made a point to state that I "picked mid" and that it was my fault that we lost. I was told to never play ranked again, and to uninstall.

In the post game screen, I mentioned to our ADC that I didn't have much experience laning and that at best I can only stay even with an opponent. I also mentioned the fact that I'm a jungle main, and I was only met with more toxicity.

He told me that I suck at jungling and that in order to be able to jungle I have to be able to lane first. He also pulled the "i'm a diamond smurf" card... oh well. Rather than keep arguing, I reported the majority of my team for harrassment and left.

Tl;Dr if I give you my preferred position and suck in one that I don't play, give me some slack... ight?

Sorry to hear that, but if you're going to be playing ranked you need to get some thicker skin. If you choose to chat with your team, expect that to happen often. You need to get your sense of when to give up a position and when to stand your ground in the pick order to get what you are due/what you want. Good luck out there. Gnar

well ult yourself when talon goes on you and it's your fault for not realizing he had ignite

As stated, it was my fault. Didn't blame anyone. I'm not dumb, obviously I did ult myself when he would go in (although he bursted me before I had a chance to multiple times) but his slow lets him wait out my ult and still kill me.

  1. While a Game Loads, pay attention to each enemies Summoners Spells, and keep them in mind all the time (If you forget, pressing Tab/O lets you see them)
  2. YOU called JG first... if thats you best role, DONT EVER let it go, cause you dont know anybody elses skills.
  3. Yeah you should have just kept to tower for farming, saving your Ult for ganks, and since you should have played defencively, maxing the heal first would have helped you (Dont know if thats what you did, just saying)
  4. If they start flamming, just Mute them, makes you pay attention to the game itself, if they want you to do something, a ping is more effective than saying "do this you F*ing noob" 5 if he WAS Diamond 4, he should have carried you to the win instead of talking shit.

Sorry about idiot teamates, and good luck on your next games :)

When you play League, start the game expecting it to be like your workplace. You can make mistakes and people will help you, but make too many and people are going to go apeshit. Because they're going to feel like you're wasting their time on purpose, whether you are or are not. I've been on both ends of the spectrum numerous times, yes it would be nice to play a game where it's all nice and lovey and rainbows and ponies, but in the end, what both makes league and destroys league is that you're dealing with real people. And us real people are not all lovey dovey rainbow pony loving happy folks.

Sounds like you should have reported them for being toxic/harrassment.
