Goodbye, League of Legends. I'll miss you.

EDIT: Wow, so many upvotes. I'm glad you all appreciate my insight. I'm not here to say that League of Legends is a bad game, or that it's even on the decline persay. Riot has just chosen to pursue a different audience: new, casual players rather than the veterans. That's their business decision, but just know... many of the veteran players, me included, feel like the game we started playing is shifting into something unrecognizable. If that's how Riot wants to portray their game, so be it... but it's not for me. I'll keep an eye on this game, because I really do love League of Legends. I just can't support it in this iteration because it's not the game I signed up for and poured money into. If Riot changes their strategy of game development and I start to feel attracted to League of Legends again, you can bet your ass I'll be logged back on in an instant. It's just terribly sad that this got so far, far enough for quite a few veteran players to feel so disenchanted that they've found a replacement. So, until the time that League of Legends resembles the game I fell in love with, I bid you all farewell. Good luck in your games, and I hope to see you on the Rift in the future._

I'm officially quitting League of Legends.

I've been holding out, hoping that some of the changes I disagree with would come to fruition and make me enjoy them, but they just haven't. I've lost hope in Riot as a company, because this just isn't the same game that I started playing in 2014.

There are so many things that make me upset about the state of the game that it's hard to find a place to begin. I think it's normal to find some things in a game that make you unhappy, be it a balance issue, a gameplay fault, or just some decisions of a company... but when I find no joy in playing at all... then there's no reason for me to stick around.

Dynamic Queue

I'd say the main reason I don't enjoy League of Legends anymore is the implementation of Dynamic Queue. I'm and almost exclusively solo player in both normals and ranked, so it makes me quite unhappy that I'm at an inherent disadvantage for taking my own rank and skill seriously. I can't find a way to have fun when I'm always either stomping alongside a 4 man premade or being stomped by a 5 man. Ever since Riot announced that Solo Queue would return, I told myself that I could wait. Weeks turned into months, and months turned into never. I waited as long as I could, hoping that Riot would find a way to make solo players feel welcome.

In Riot's most recent words, the type of gameplay they want to support simply can't be found in split queues or a strictly solo queue. Solo players aren't welcome in League of Legends, and Riot isn't ashamed to make that known anymore. They waited such a long time hoping that we'd forget, but I never did. The words they used were always so vague, and now that they're concrete, it's certain that solo queue is never returning (at least not in this state of the game).

My issue isn't even that Dynamic Queue favors premades, it actually rewards them. The introduction of Hextech Crafting literally gives reward for playing with friends, alongside the inherent advantages of playing with a premade. Riot is sending a message: solo players aren't welcome. If this is the type of game that Riot wants to make, then it's obviously not for me. Dynamic Queue makes my individual rank meaningless, because even an unskilled player could be carried to my rank and beyond by a 4 man of Diamonds. There's no reason to even have a ranking system with Dynamic Queue around. If Riot really wants to promote a completely social and team-favored game, then it'd be best to remove solo play completely and force people to only play as groups of 5. It's disgusting and blatantly unfair to tease solo players with the illusion of a fair and balanced rank and gameplay.

However, this doesn't mean that Dynamic Queue is bad. Many pro players agree that Dynamic Queue is a bad system, as do most solo players... but Dynamic Queue is only a bad system when combined with Riot's previous intentions for the game. If Riot wants to make LoL an easy game to pick up and a casual experience for friends, then Dynamic Queue is absolutely the way to go. If they want to retain any semblance of competitive gameplay, then Riot has completely and utterly succeeded at destroying all of the success they're brought about.

Probably the most unsettling part about all of this is that even Riot is afraid to know if they screwed up. The only poll since the announcement of Dynamic Queue was a poll that was completely biased due to a mix-up of Dynamic Queue and the new Draft Pick. If Riot was really confident in their decisions and really wanted to know how to please the playerbase, they'd ask us. Riot is afraid of tarnishing their pride by admitting a mistake, and so Dynamic Queue will remain even if it is a mistake.

...and now onto the more minor issues that contributed to my decision.

Hextech Crafting

Before I rant on this, let me just say that I'm not complaining about free stuff. I'm not entitled to it and we never had it before, so I'd just like to say I'm grateful.

However, I'd just like to explain why Hextech Crafting was the wrong way to go if Riot wanted to reward players for doing well.

The main issue with Hextech Crafting is champion shards, blue essence, and their interaction with Champion Mastery. Having Champion Mastery rely on RNG is a truly dumb idea, because it has absolutely nothing to do with “mastering a champion.” I understand it was an idea to help get rid of the blue essence and champ shards that many veteran players accumulate, but this is exactly why Hextech Crafting is a faulty system. It rewards new players much more than Veteran players, which is the opposite of how it should work. A player who has played for years has done a lot more for Riot than someone who picked up the game 3 weeks ago, but somehow it makes sense that new players gain more from Hextech Crafting. Either find a new use for blue essence that is useful to Veteran players rather than making their mastery of a champion rely on RNG, or scrap the system. Simple.

Midseason Changes

Jungle Timers For some reason, it seams that Riot has been trying to make the game more geared to casual or new players. The best example is Dynamic Queue, but there are a ton of other smaller changes; one being the Jungle Timer changes. The new Jungle Timers remove a lot of the skill that it took to play Jungle like warding enemy buffs and invading to get buff timers. Now, getting vision on the empty pit gives timers for free. This was a change intended to make jungling easier, but it also favor premades (yet again) who are coordinated enough to take advantage of the information. It's unbelievably hard to get a team of solos to go for a 4 man invade, while it's a piece of cake for premades.

Dragons Oh look, another buff to premade play. Dragon buffs stack, and are even further amplified later into the game based on how many dragons you got earlier on. This system rewards early dragon control, which is abused by... you guessed it! Premades!

Bloodrazor Because it's an awesome idea to cripple an entire class of champions and leave them that way for two patches. Every Devourer jungler (aside from Kindred , who benefits from % HP damage) was left completely destroyed after the removal of Devourer. It's been two patches, and all of them are still sub-50%, and most are closer to 45%. The best part: Devourer wasn't the problem. Guinsoo's was.

Class Reworks/New Champions

Riot's new obsessions is giving every champion a gimmick or niche, even if they're fine in their current state. The whole premise behind the class reworks was to make every champion have a specific purpose. That sounds fine, but why exactly can't a champion just be a jack of all trades? And why is Riot encouraged games to be decided in champ select, due to the champions picked filling their “niche” or not that game? Not only that, but many champions that are completely healthy are reworked for no reason. Velkoz is a prime example. He didn't need a rework, and he didn't even receive many changes, but now he's supposed to be some sort of tank-shredding tank. There wasn't anything wrong with his previous iteration, but Riot wanted him to be specifically FOR something. It's these unnecessary reworks that create toxic kits that won't be fixed for awhile simply because they were JUST reworked. Graves and Malzahar both have incredibly unfun-to-play-against kits, but because they were so recently reworked it's unlikely that they'll be changed for years.

If class reworks weren't enough, this ideal spreads even to new releases. Every new champion for over a year has had some sort of stupid gimmick that their entire gameplay is balanced around. TahmKench 's gimmick is a 3-hit/eat ability that takes up all of his damage, and has so much utility packed into it that the rest of his kit has to be useless. RekSai is so dead-focused on the vision games that she can give no damage to her team; her burrow is everything to her kit. Not every champion has to fill a hyper-specific niche to feel powerful and interesting.

Runes and Masteries

Riot is reducing the price on lower tier runes (more noob and casual friendly, yay) but leaving veteran players with weeks worth of games to play to even have an average amount of runes. I've been level 30 since Season 5, and I still only have 2 Rune Pages and just enough runes for AP, AD, and Tank. It's not because I've spent my IP on champs (I only have 50, and most were from 3150 and lower), it's just that there isn't enough IP given through level up to get up to par. The current Rune system is a very odd gate to gameplay that lasts even into years of play.

Masteries, on the other hand, aren't a gate to gameplay. They're just a flawed way to give extra stats. Masteries have always been a way to empower your champion in a fashion of your choosing, but the introduction of keystones favors only champions that have a high synergy with one. It is a requirement to go all the way down a tree, and anyone who doesn't is at an inherent disadvantage. It also puts champions without keystone synergy at a disadvantage... they just give way too much power for how exclusive they are. Champions have been balanced around their best keystone path more than once.

Balance

Riot picks favorites. Plain and simple. Popular champions will never be gutted, but any unpopular champ that rises in winrate is swatted immediately. Champions like Zed , Ahri , Fizz , Lucian , Thresh , and Ezreal are immune to heavy nerfs, and when nerfed they are always compensated becaue they're playmakers and popular. Less popular champions are gutted when they become good and are left to die, because they're boring or Riot doesn't like them (Mordekaiser , Yorick , Nunu , Aatrox , Illaoi , Warwick ). The removal of mana regen and no introduction of AP counters to AD are just bad decisions in trying to balance the damage orientations when AD has Sterak's, Maw, etc. Riot often gets hung up on some odd gameplay fantasy that they want to work, and refuses to nerf a champion that fulfills it. A prime example is Ekko . He is what Riot wants a Utility Assassin to be, but it doesn't work and never will work. Anyone with heavy Utility will be built tank to abuse the Utility. Ekko should have been gutted the second he became oppressive, but because Riot doesn't want to abandon their fantasy, he'll remain playable in this state.

Toxicity and Punishment

I would go into my thoughts on the current punishment system, the mute function, language filters, and the report function, but my ideals are unconventional and I'd prefer to not invalidate my previous statements because of people not agreeing with my thoughts on this. I'll keep it to myself, just know that I have problems with this.

Closing

I don't have fun playing League of Legends anymore. I've tried waiting it out, hoping that the game will magically restore itself, but it's clear that it just won't happen. I've wasted enough time trying to make myself enjoy the game, but it's just not the same game that enchanted me from the beginning. Too much has changed, and Riot is catering to the wrong group of people. I don't feel the same excitement to log on that I felt when I first started playing. I get on to make YouTube videos, but playing a game shouldn't feel like a chore. It should be something I want to do. I'm not here to bash Riot; if they want to change their game to cater to a different audience, then that's their decision. Just know that I was a dedicated player, and you've lost me. You've obliterated the game that I loved for so long, and I just can't bring myself to play the game in this state. So, with this, I bid you my final farewell.

Goodbye, League of Legends.

Solid post. I think this underlines allot of the issues in league at the moment. I've almost stopped playing lol, and have tried other games, Warframe, Guild Wars 2, and a old pastime Magic the gathering.

I hate how people are getting banned without a proper reform ticket, and litte or no riot support. "Third party programmes" are not a valid reason for a perma ban if you can't even state the reason for the ban.

I have no objection to any sort of bans because it's agreed to in the ToS that Riot can ban for any reason, even if there is none. However, the reasons for some bans are what I disagree with. Point me in the direction of some good games if you find any, I'm looking in the direction of Overwatch ATM.

Very well-written post. Worth the read for anyone wanting to catch up on most of the problems plaguing the game at the moment.

There's just one part I feel like commenting on:

Too much has changed, and Riot is catering to the wrong group of people.

From a business standpoint, they're not. Their goal at the moment is clearly to reel in new players and profit off of them. Veteran players don't have much to give them after they (me included) have already purchased the skins, champions, rune pages, and so on that they wanted. It only makes sense to lure in a new group of people to get them to buy the same stuff the veterans did via new and different features. Veterans discovered and started playing League for its highly competitive nature. Now Riot recently changed that by introducing DQ - attracting the more casual crowd who prefer playing with friends.

Essentially, Riot is saying to the veterans, "Okay, we got all we wanted from you now. Let's bring in the next group!"

Unfortunately, this guy is 100% correct. Their business standpoint is correct it's just not very ethical to the group that made their game what it is.

We feel like we're being kicked out of the house. "Oh what, you're over 20 and in university and been playing League forever? Get the fuck out, bring in the mommy/daddy spenders and let's hope you don't have the guts to leave this incredibly addicting game" - Riot.

They're basically daring elder players to leave to see if we can get away from (let's be honest) our addiction.

I used to be able to play this game all day. Literally I could waste hours playing, and enjoying it. Now I quit enjoying it after the first 1-2 games. Hard to pinpoint the exact reason, but mostly due to premades trolling in ranked, then after several games of being trolled in a row I finally rage then I get chat restricted. Also, they ruined Malzahar , he was the only champs I truly enjoyed playing since I started. he was so fun and niche before his rework, now he's autobanned. Is your balancing so bad you can't not break a champ?

I'll probably keep playing for awhile, but I play less and less every day until I eventually quit logging in all together. Which is regretful because this game used to be so fun.

Have a Nice Game9 votes

Pretty much this.

I find myself at a loss now that Malzahar is perma banned since he has been at my side since I started ranked in season 4.

The sad part is that even when he gets nerfed into the ground or another champion becomes OP to take his place, I'm not going to play him.

The prophet from before was fun and I loved the freedom to use my individual spells however the fuck I wanted, in any order I wanted.

I can't bring myself to play this new bad-positioning-forgiving-summoner champion that forces you to chain spells in a certain order in order to reach the optimum damage output.

Now I just lurk around looking for alternative champions, but I already know that not a single one of them had the special quirks Malzahar had.

RIP

RiotRepertoir managed to horrendously destroy both Malzahar and Cassiopeia in one fell swoop. I would consider reprimanding him for his incompetency, but the entire balance team seems to have huge issues with their job.

MissMikasa11 votes

I agree, its not just him but the whole balance team. I keep playing less and less too. I've even gone back to playing my old ps2 games just for the nostalgia LOL.

Ira Gamagori2 votes

Destroy this, destroy that Jesus guys its getting really annoying. Is Malzahar strong? Yes. Was the rework for the best? Yes. The kind of static design and utter gutting the board would do if they had a hand in the balance is utterly laughable. Grow up and accept that change is a natural and good part of life, or get left behind with outdated thinking.

MissMikasa7 votes

Um the rework isn't for the best if he's turned into a perma ban, dude. Grow up and learn to not be so rude to others, man.

If the whole balance team was fired and a new team was put in, then the balance of the game would actually be a hell of a ton better.

Ira Gamagori3 votes

Its called cyclical-balance. There is no way to make every champion balanced with perfect constant 50% banrate. To do that their skills and nearly every item would have to be dumbed down or homogenized. Heroes of the Storm, a game where the balance team doesn't have to worry about things like items can't manage it despite repeated tries. Cyclical Balance is also a healthy thing in the long run since it leads to a shifting meta-game. In a nutshell while i may come of as rude i have no intention to insult you as a human being, i simply question your decision-making while it comes to this. Malzahar recieved a gameplay change that made him much more enjoyable and while his numbers are overtuned that thing can be sorted out. I like reworks because they replace what i percieve as static and boring design. Since lets be clear once the numbers get worked out every reworked champions feels new and good to play. Concerning the balance team, the answer is simply no. They are doing their job fine despite what you say. What you have to consider is that every player is biased towards his own tastes, and would balance accodingly, so champions like Yasuo or Leblanc would be nonexistent, and no reworks or changes would happen.

MissMikasa7 votes

Really? I don't see many Malz players "enjoying" his new gameplay, in fact I see more than not people who hate it.

The balance team is doing "fine"?! Yea right. Go look at all the posts complaining and see that they are doing "fine". They are doing the exact opposite and keep going down the wrong path.

Toru Itai4 votes

I (a malz player) have basically stopped playing him sense the rework :/ he's just not the same, and even if i tried to play him he'd likely get banned. then there's the incoming nerf...

iTaLenTZ4 votes

Dream on. The boards is not prepared to accept the truth yet. 6/11 reworks Repertoire made received/will receive another rework. Statistically he is the worst champ designer in Leagues history, yet he is never evaluated let alone fired for his incompetence. I strongly agree with you the only reason for this is because the rest seems to be just as incompetent as he is.

This 100%.

I had days when I climbed out of bed, started to play League, ate, played again, and suddenly realized that the day has passed :D

Two days ago I tried logging in. I couldn't. As soon as I saw the launcher, I immediately remembered my last game with a 4man premade. Immediately closed the launcher and played Minecraft :D

t's these unnecessary reworks that create toxic kits that won't be fixed for awhile simply because they were JUST reworked.

This is extremely true. I'm happy to see other people realize this.

Miss Fortune, easily my favorite champion in League, was a victim of these reworks. She's extremely toxic because she can wipe out a team with a press of a button and subsequently win that game because of it, but unless she's in a premade team composition heavily based around her (which doesn't happen), she's usually irrelevant from the game and heavily outclassed by every other ADC. She can't be buffed to be remotely viable because when she is given a wombo combo team comp she goes above and beyond what any other ADC will ever do with it, meaning if she had more relevant strengths she would be ridiculously overpowered.

Also it's pretty sad that a post titled like this wouldn't be immediately downvoted, you know League is in a poor state when the first words of a discussion are "Goodbye League of Legends" and the discussion isn't receiving like -20 votes.

Ira Gamagori6 votes

Yeah, i am so sad that a previously garbage champion is actually playable in some team-comps. Its such a shame that Riot is trying to fix the bad designs they made when the game started. Its so utterly horrid that the game is not a static mess. Its so blasphemous that they are actually making changes. Its mortifying beyond acceptance that they actually have ideas. Its sickening that this is not the game from 3 years ago. Seriously, stop it. You don't matter, none of us do. The people on the boards are a very vocal and pretentious minority who complain about everything and believe that they would be the saviors of the game if the design team listened to them, but in truth would just make more mistakes. Suck it up, every change is for the better either in the long run or the short run, something that nobody here manages to understand. Jesus Christ i am so tired of the endless victim speeches, and constant blame the design team gets. Its their job not yours and as long as you are not a Riot Employee stop speaking like you know more about the game than they do.

MKDkilla9 votes

I'd actually argue that the boards and Reddit community are the type of players who are most engaged with the game, and don't just play it for the sake of playing.

And no, not every change is for the better. Because while the intention behind said changes might mean one thing, the overall result might be the complete opposite. It's our responsibility as players to make clear certain issues.

No one gives Riot shit for the hell of it. There have been many, many threads praising Riot's recent splashes and lore, and champion designs like Poppy's or Sion's. But when shit like dynamic queue is introduced and forced down our throats, there's nothing to do except call them out on it, because I'm not so sure this vocal majority you speak of is okay with it either.

I must be the only one that feels no difference between solo queue and dynamic queue...

It's still the team game to me. Then again I came in at season 4 and get attached to basically nothing in the game. For example, Lucian is my favorite champ. I played him a lot before they changed him. He was my main. Then they changed him. He was still good. More changes to him and the game and he was not so good for a while.

Did I complain? Not really. I had some discontent about the change but I got over it. I started playing more Graves, Tristana, Sivir, etc., 3 of the 160+ champs in the game. Being that LoL needs to stay fresh in some way means that they need to change things. I'm okay with that. LoL is not the same game it was last year, or the year before, and I think that's a good thing.

Dynamic queue is one of those changes. IDK, I guess I'm just missing something but I've virtually never had friends to play with, so when I see complaints about DQ I get confused. It feels no different. Ranked has always been "win some, lose some" team game. I don't get wrapped up in my own dealings. I always ask myself, "how can I help get my team a win?" Every time I see one of these posts it sounds like the OP wants the game to be about themselves, never their teams. Just me, myself, and I.

Enlighten me, please: why is a team focus bad?

Have a Nice Game4 votes

I think its more about having the option available to do pure solo q

xenos of the air3 votes

That and the idea that rankings mean less if the skill of one solo player who got to the rank on their own vs a solo player who got carried by smurfs or higher skilled teammates being measured as equals. That and the whole solo players feeling like second class citizens in ranked thing which was addressed in the post.

franticFurball12 votes

Enlighten me, please: why is a team focus bad?

3 main reasons:

RANKING ASPECT

We had years of gaming here, where our INDIVIDUAL SKILL was measured and valued, and the ranking system still reflects that. Becase its me who has a rank, not the "team". The game calls me gold or plat or diamond, not the people I played with.

Does that reflect what happens in the game? Not in my opinion. Wheter or not I win or lose a game, is mainly dependent on factors that have nothing to do with my individual skill and contribution. If i am ingame solo, with a 4man premade, and they play better than the 4man premade on the opposing team, then I will most likely win, even if my plays are sub-standard. The same is true vice versa...I will most likely not be able to carry a bad premade, no matter how well I play.

Now, you could argue that the same applies to soloQ, and to an extend, you are correct. The problem here: In soloQ, the choice of teammates will always be RANDOMIZED, and the choice is based on the previous evaluation of these players skills IN A SOLOQ ENVIRONMENT.

Premades skew that choice, because bad players can group with very good players, very good players can team up to a 3 and 4 man, and so can bad players. Its no longer 100% random, the players grouping influences the process.

FUN ASPECT

Quite simply put, its not fun as a solo player to be dependent on the premade. Against and with organized play, my individual contribution is put in the background, something I don't enjoy. Sure, I could group up as well...would that solve the problem? No. In pure soloQ, the game is alot about individual decisions, skill in 1v1 and 2v2, about analysing the situation and individual decision making.

That may not be fun to some players, I understand. But its fun to me. And if that is taken away, and in my opinion DynQ takes that away from me for the most part, I no longer have fun.

TOXICITY

I think the topic of premade-toxicity has been amply discussed. No further explanation is required.

Osaka 7789 votes

Well put. I agree. I also quit, mainly because of dynamic queue.

Ardwenel9 votes

I feel for you, OP, I really do. I uninstalled League of Legends last night. I managed to hit Gold but the fun of the game is entirely gone. I'm sick and tired of playing WITH or Against premades. Nearly every game I see multiple people with the same tags and the only thing I hear is "Dude get in -insertprogramhere-" after that total radio silence.

I've played League since the release of Jayce, and this has been the most toxic and frustrating season ever. Why can't Riot understand it's NOT fun being the odd man out in a team game? Before I had to make due with what matchmaking gave me, but so what? So did everyone else - everyone on my team and everyone on the other team.

Now there's already a "team" before I even hit que and I'm not a part of it.

Perhaps the worst thing is the majority of my friends were also soloque players. We'd group up time to time for a game, but our work schedules are vastly different and we have family obligations. We would all extensively que solo to tide us over between our sporadic gaming sessions, and it worked for us. If we wanted to play ranked together we'd duo que under the old system, if there were more of us we'd hit up normals or even an ARAM. Now? Now they've ALL quit. I had one friend hold-out with me until this weekend in the hopes that things would improve, but he decided to toss in his hat yesterday.

Riots focus on "friend" play has literally made my friend list a ghost town. Even the people I've added in-game and do not know in real life have all quit or only log in for the occasional ARAM or featured game mode. So, I'm following their lead. It was fun while it lasted but League has turned into something I no longer enjoy.

Well done upvote this one! Can't agree more! Masteries are a big factor of the current inbalance, yup i agree with all you said.

Well maybe we see you around mate, wish you gl what ever you do :-) Thumps UP!

After 4 seasons of active playing season 5 end and season 6 were the worst 2 "patches" i played on. I'm waiting since preseason that the game gets better and this keeps me playing, but i think this time we go into a completely different way like the seasons before. And i hope for myself i can finally find he point in the near future where i can say good bye league too and stop trusting and hoping in upcoming changes. I feel like the skill factor has became so low in this game there are so less counterplays anymore due 40% cdr spam items, furthermore like you said there are so much champion in meta who are extreme frustrating to play against overmobile stuff on tank and high bursts good trades due fail balanced masteries (grasp, thunderlord etc. like you said "op" on special champs) some example are. Ekko Top, Yasuo Top, Fizz Top can abuse it perfect.

And you only see the same champs over rand over again. ekko, lucian, trundle, yasuo, fizz, zed because they need less skill and are superior to other champions by masterys+base stats alone. So huge it was never before.

Well anyway, Best Regards

SSrikeShadow7 votes

I agree with the OP regarding the queue. I have literally waited 1hr in queue with the long queue times and dodges. I have played league a lot less since it started. I get a hankering to play it sometimes, but that queue time gives me pause (;p). If I have anything else that remotely interests me, then I play it instead.

He's also dead-on about solo queue. I used to rant a ton about how I should be able to queue with ONLY solo queue players so my skill we be accurately measured. To be honest, the fact that I play this game at 37 years-of-age is embarrassing and I would never tell my friends ;p. For you youngsters to understand, it would be like sucking a pacifier at age 15...

I would LOVE to see Riot commenting on the "Balance" section of your post. Anyway, i will quit LoL soon after you if Riot doesn't act immediately to fix things up.

This post embodies every single one of my opinions about League right now -

HOWEVER... I have been currently staying, but I'm not sure how long I will be able to. The main reason why I don't want to quit is because of the commitment all these years (End of Season 1 I started), time and money I've spent. I still find it fun, but I hate the shady practices and little games they play for everything.

There's probably going to be a point where they pull the final straw on me and I quit, but it'll be sad to leave the game I used to be so excited about.

Just want to say a few things

I find the stated devourer was already a bad design on itself and the new guinsoos actually made it worse, I mean honestly, playing against a sated jungler is almost the same as playing against nasus in lower elos of play, a ticking time bomb, once they get the stacks, they're pretty much nearly unstoppable, you gotta blow so much for the jungler which normally costs the team fight

As for ekko, he's finally starting to get in the right direction in terms of changes, rather than shifted base dmg for ap scaling, they are changing his utility to scale off ap, it might still be frustrating to go against a tank ekko then, but atleast most of his utility will be damaged..... tho it seems they pulled tho changes in favor of removing the slow from his passive and doubling the lock way from his passive in returns, which kinda annoys me as in the past they shifted some power from his q and e to his passive and now they're going to make it take longer to proc again

Since Vel'koz has been changed i feel much less motivated to play. He was my main and i just don't have my magical midlaner anymore. He is not the same. I don't understand why this had to happen.

When i get fed up with an online multiplayer game i usually turn to single player games. Trying to find older classics or intetresting concepts to ease the pain of the echoing "GG NOOB!"s and "GET CANCER"s. RPGs usually get me for a long time. I can recommend the Elder scrolls of which i am a fan since Morrowind came out or the Fallout series (especially the first two and New Vegas). Pillars of eternity is worth a look. Or if you'd like something that flows a little easier dragon age inquisition is an absolutely magical journeyBard .

Or if you'd like something completely different Freelancer is old but gold

Check back in a few months GL

Yea I stopped playing a few weeks ago because of my new job, but I have zero intention of coming back unless solo que returns

You forgot one more thing.

Queue times are just horrible.

I now sit in 13minutes queue in gold 1.

Let's just call it what it is specifically referring to Riot's method of hextech crafting; they're rewarding players that are new while forgetting all the players who have spent countless years bringing LoL to where it is now. Not saying every one of us are amazing. The Riot staff and community that led it here together was it. But honestly you're selling out. To hook in the rest of the world's skeptical but new casual players, you're trying to reward them while every one of us who have paid our dues, stayed here through tough times and the good times... yet we're just getting thrown on the corner.

Dynamic Queue is another great example of this. Dynamic Queue would be a great system if it was in its own rank ladder or in simple normals. But for competitive rank ladder, dynamic queue is such a bad idea. I agree that it's so fun to queue up with all your friends to rank together... but how many people are deserving the ranks they get? At least with Solo/Duo Q, after 100 games you could find out your average KDA/CS/game tendencies and what kind of player you are. KDA and game stats from individual games don't matter but after many many games they reflect on what kind of player you are. It starts to get clearer what your strengths and weaknesses are and thus you improve from there. Dynamic Queue erases that notion in majority of players because let's face it... why would players practice to improve when all they care about is ranking up? Not even getting better.

Literally point for point I do not thing there's a single thing I disagree with you on. Also I do have major issues with the toxicity and punishment system as well. I bet we're right on point with that as well, seeing as your critical thinking skills and logic is right on point.

I begin streaming Overwatch tomorrow.

Goodbye League indeed.

Sorry to burst the bubble, but I left out my views on toxicity because they're unconventional. I have no problem with toxicity or verbal abuse because I'm hard headed and good at handling criticism. I don't think it's worthy of any punishment with both language filters and mute functions in place.

It makes sense logically to me, but probably not for most others who can't handle offensive language as well.

Feel free to drop a link to your Twitch, I've yet to play Overwatch so I'd like to see some competent gameplay, considering I blindly pre-ordered it.

Riot doesn't even pretend to try balancing the game anymore.

Like you said, popular champions are allowed to remain broken for long periods of time, often even years--if Riot can continue making money off of them.

That stuff like Lucian, Azir, Zed, for example can continue to exist in their current states is a tribute not to Riot's incompetence, but rather an intentional scheme that of course boils down to making as much money as possible.

Balance is an afterthought. Unsurprisingly, season after season there are 2-3 viable picks in each role, most of them of course newer champions that are still raking in the money.

No rioter will dare to answer this thread, they'd rather hide the shit under the carpet and pretend everything is okay

After a while you'll find out Season6 is actually a good thing. It cured my league addiction, my life is free now that I uninstalled league, I feel so much better.
