Does Team Fight Tactics have rewards worth the effort to win?

Illabethe··3 votes·5,231 views

I've won Team Fight tactics 7-8 consecutive times, and all I see at the end:

-6 Arcade tokens.

There's no LP, because it's not a pvp arena. There's no Blue essence. The Egg/Map customization progression is extremely slow.

Yet...... TFT consumes a LOT of time by default to finish a game (~ 43 minutes) It's fun as hell. But it offers no real freebies or "status of progression" feel.

If it's fun as hell, shouldnt that be enough of a reason for you to play? this isnt a job, not everything has to be done towards something, sometimes things can be just fun.

But like the guy above me said, they're gonna add progression and ranked in the future

Simulators aren't fun after you master them. It was fun up until I started winning. Then I began winning every single game. It took me about 12 games to master beating any team. 43 minutes for ..... nothing..... and needing 7-8 of those per stepping stone...... is not fun.

Well, if you really think you've mastered the game to the point you'll win every match no matter how much rng Fs you over, you could try entertaining yourself via teaching other ppl to compete.

Nice epeen you got behind this boasting thread btw :/

I've explained how to win in at least three different threads.

There are actual "Lock" builds/compositions who can beat 2-3 3 Star champ compositions even if you don't get your lucky 3 Stars yourself.

  1. Hold off on spending gold until you have 10+ gold and maintain that level.
  2. Defense and CC is stronger than outright output teams.
  3. 60% Dodge is heavily underrated, and Yordles are some of the easiest to purchase.
  4. Cursed Blade, Locket of the Iron Solari are arguably the two most powerful items in the game.
  5. Yordles have the greatest available of all combat roles; Easiest to get Sorcerer/Elementalist, AND a strong front line Brawler (Gnar). Meaning, Adjunct Sorcerers like Lulu + Morg + Veigar can absolutely dominate teams because Lulu + Locket is a double team barrier/knockup that both counters assassins AND adcs.

Strong Frontline Brawler that is Gnar

I generally place a WW or Voli in front depending on composition..... After he ults he is.

considering how easy tft is compared to autochess and the fact that the player base rn seems to be really bad its not really much of a brag to win most of your games.

It's still in beta. They will be adding a lot more to it as time goes by

Well, you get XP, just like every other mode. Did you expect some extra special bonus just for playing a different mode?

You don't get XP for TFT. You only get tokens from whatever event is going on.

In other words, for playing a game twice as long as other games, you gain 6 tokens instead of the 12 playing something else, no XP, where you would have otherwise, no Keys/Blue Essence....

They could probably add that stuff once the beta ends. I'd actually would like to earn BE from it and maybe make Eggs BE purchasable (BY RACE, not this EA questionable shit going on).

Also, to be fair, you can surrender around the 3rd set of rounds im pretty sure, so its not that long. Its long cuz not everything is balanced out (I bet a million bucks Glacial v Yordle could take forever just for one to come out on top).

First off, you only get the tokens if you're forking out cash for the pass, so any F2P players, or players who don't bother with passes, don't get that.

Secondly, I'm pretty dam sure you should be getting XP for playing TFT (just like any mode). I did nothing but TFT for most of yesterday (all consecutive matches) and levelled up during that time, so far I've levelled up twice just during periods I was playing TFT, I even spent a few games checking my XP between each one to see whether I was getting XP from TFT and confirmed it. I've not heard any issues from anyone I know about not getting XP from TFT.

If you are not getting XP from TFT, you might want to submit a bug report (or maybe go keep track of it for a few games and confirm whether you are or aren't getting XP).

Luckily you can just grind without winning.

You don't gain XP. You Don't gain anything except 1 game played toward the TFT ladder at the bottom of the entrance screen.

I mean, you can grind the TFT rewards, obviously. For the 1st win of the day I agree you need to play else.

it was long and boring for me, but people seem to enjoy it on Twitch. [zombie-brand-clap]
