Jungle issues need to be resolved before support + carry solo lanes become a dominant strategy again

With the pre-season changes generally shitting on the entire jungle role, we're starting to see a resurgence of support + carry solo lanes.

There are no longer any downsides to using this strategy. You do a quick first clear of your jungle, get your upgraded jungle item, and then spend the rest of the laning phase hard pushing and clearing your nearby jungle as it respawns.

The enemy jungle can't take advantage of this and poach your camps early, because they're at too much of a level disadvantage to the remaining solo lane. With two support items on your team, you can maintain full vision of your jungle entrances at all times. If they try to poach a camp near your solo lane, it can just collapse and one shot them with a level 6 advantage. If they try to poach a camp near your 2v1 lane, you always have priority, so you can just collapse on them at no cost.

Meanwhile, you actually gain more experience than the enemy jungle, because splitting with the support is roughly equal to AFK farming, plus you're getting the important camps' EXP between waves.

Even if you do this in top lane, the lack of presence for dragon is a non-issue, and will be even less of a non-issue if the Herald buffs go through. Most jungles can't gank to gain dragon priority early, because they have to AFK farm, and dragon is warded at all times in higher MMR games, so they can't sneak a dragon without the mid lane coming through and killing them. Even in a worst case scenario, you concede the first dragon and take top turret before the second dragon, then have priority for all subsequent dragons.

See this example, with 83% win rate at Diamond I using a Taric + Yi lane: https://i.imgur.com/xRr3h99.jpg

Taric + Yi is especially strong, but it's equally effective with any ranged support, like Lulu or Karma, and standard carries like Kai'sa or Vayne.

The role needs to be able to stand on its own. If it remains in this state where it's weaker than solo lanes at baseline, there's really no reason to not just cut the jungle out and instead do a 2v1 lane.

This is a Yi+Taric Lulu+Twitch etc. problem that has existed for ages. Even when it's not popular, you still see it at the very least once a month and it's cancer every time.

Leave it to the boards, to somehow not notice another good post. Meanwhile, a discussion about "classification" of juggernauts commands 12k views and 50 comments. Gameplay sub-board in a nutshell.
