@riot When is Trundle's VGU if he has one planned?

This guy's kit is the epitome of cancerous stat check.

Everything he does gives him more stats and 2 of the things he does boils down to "I take your stats and pad them to mine."

There is literally ZERO counterplay to trundle's kit outside of be able to somehow outstat him through all of his stat stealing or simply outrange him.

I'm not saying hes broken, but I think we can all agree his kit goes 100% against what riot is about especially with bruiser kits: point n click stat checking auto fights.

If only there was a method of fighting champions with strong melee match ups outside of their core range, if only there was a mechanic that allowed certain champions to attack out of the range of champions to avoid damage. Seriously, why has Riot not implemented some kind of combat beyond just melee to fight with?

Not sure if sarcastic or something but plenty of melee champions have abilities that transcend melee range but require special conditions to make use of (even if said condition is just aiming).

Darius decimate, camille W, olaf Q, Urgot Q, fiora parry, Illaoi E, Illaoi Q, etc.

I'm being sarcastic, yeah, he does a lot in melee range because unlike just about every other melee champion he has absolutely NO ranged combat capabilities, he can't poke from afar, he can't farm from afar, he can't harass from even longer then like 200 range, you kite him.

I mean if you ignore his pillar yeah trundle has no way to assist himself in gapclosing. Sure it's not a direct combat capability, but trundle isn't on say... Garen's level of being unable to do shit from afar.

I'm not saying he doesn't have means to get in, I'm saying that he has LITERALLY no ranged damage at ALL.

Edit: I'm sorry forgetting that yes, his ulti is ranged.

Trundle's E has 450 more range than ranged auto attackers and literally prevents them from kiting, and his W has a cast range of 900 with a radius of fucking a lot, so he'll outspeed Sivir and outslow Ashe .

Trundle is a Juggernaut, although admittedly a bit of a hybrid one. You do not fight Trundle on his terms, much like you don't fight Illaoi under tentacles. His mobility is low and his stickiness is only moderate. If he drops frozen domain? You leave it, make him bring the fight to you outside of his buff zone. If you are melee there is admittedly not much you can do about chomp, but you should probably disengage while ulted too if you can swing it. If he can't fight you in frozen domain or while boosted by his ult the only stat check bonus he gets is the AD swing from chomp. Ranged champs can kite him relatively easily.

Except you absolutely can fight illaoi under her tentacles because you can dodge them and deny her a lot of damage and sustain.

There's nothing to dodge with trundle, it's just a matter of "do I outstat him or does he outstat me? I have to take into account he's going to steal a lot of my shit."

Most of Trundle’s stat boosts are conditional/on a cooldown. Moving/delaying the fight to deny him his non-chomp stat boosts IS counterplay. Counterplay is more than just dodging skill shots. Sure, some champs can manage it easier than others, but it’s not like the same isn’t true for dodging things.

he's beyond garbage in teamfight

his pick/ban presence in lck is purely tied to his splitpushing that is no match for any tank played there (sion cho ornn)
