League of broken promises
Hello and thank you for taking time to read my post!
A few months back RIOT announced their ambition - to make a global esport, that people can grow up with. Well, ambitions are nice thing, and I can congratulate you for this one. However back in the times when I grew up I did it in the real world - playing basketball, football, riding bikes, hanging out. Even when some elder people stated: "You have no childhood, playing video games, watching TV and blah-blah" I barely cared. I knew their childhood had long gone and mine was right then. They didn't have the word on mine, and I am not sorry for the time I spent. So yeah, that might work for the new generation. However - back at the playground and the streets I learned something very important - what exactly means for a man to stand for his word. I've met people who lied, I've met people who said what that they though, and did what they had said. you can guess which group was my role model, which group I respected and what kind of friends I surrounded with. To the point - during the years Riot has made a lot of promises - improved experience for crest owners, training mode, replay system, voice-chat system. List goes on. This winter you promised us true solo queue. I am not even going to tell you how bad DQ is for solo players. We know that, RIOT knows that. If RIOT wants this direction in their game - that's fine. It is their game. The point is in the broken promise. And during the years there were a lot of them. So RIOT as a company has lost my trust and respect. And I am going to state this firmly and clearly. I am not saying I am quiting. I will keep on playing sometimes. But sometimes when I want to relax and have a little fun. I will not dedicate a lot of time on this game, and I think that no self respecting kid would want to grow up with it either. As a final I am gonna repeat - RIOT has lost my respect, and I believe LoL has lost its soul as well.
Best wishes to all of you!
