A daily reminder we still want Solo Queue

Everyone has his own motives to want this. My personal ones are:

I feel that I have less impact when being matched with/against premades. When I am with 3 or 4 people, who are premades there is no way for me to have equivalent impact on the game as every single one of them. It's that simple. I know, I still can win, because both teams have 4 premades communicating. However - I cannot escape the feeling that my contribution to the win is close to zero. What really wins/losses the game is how good are the premades in my team compared to the premades in the enemy team.

Disclaimer: I do not mind Dynamic queue. I am perfectly fine for it to exists, as long as there is another opportunity - to play a truly solo game.

I'm sick of being forced to play with and against premades. And not even knowing who it is. I want solo queue. Dynamic queue alienates solo players hardcore.

The thing is to help the minority, Riot would need to take out the majority. Dynamic Queue cannot function at the same time as Solo Queue for a couple reasons. One being the new long ass queue times and the second is a lack of solo players. If Solo Queue is released then most solos will go play Solo Queue (duh), but that leaves the 4 man pre-mades with pretty much no fifth man. The minority of people or Solo only people so to get back Solo Queue Riot would needed to bash all duos, trios, etc.

There are things to be done - IP bonuses for example, to make dynamic queue more appealing for solo players. Because right now it sounds like: "Nah, we cannot release solo queue, because solo players would go for it, but we need them in dynamic. As long as they bring us more money you will be the slaves, who fill the teams"

The easiest way to get solo Q back is to either quit league or at least stop running dynamic queue an filling a slot, if enough solo's do this the system will collapse in on itself and fail.

Not so sure. At the end of the day they've created the most popular game in the world. Too bad they seem to not care about minorities of the community (Dominion, Solo queue, 1v1 and 2v2 ranked ladders and so on). I understand that most people enjoy 3-4-5 man groups, but not all. And this is like 20th thread on the topic about the Solo queue alone.

They've created the most popular game but it wouldn't be anywhere without things like the player behavior team, the skins team, and their marketing/advertising teams too. As far as I'm concerned they're the ones that are doing perfectly fine. Player behavior is improving and reports are starting to mean something, the skins team is giving us really cool skins like Meowkai, and the game has blown up in popularity due to the advertising capabilities Riot has. It leaves me to wonder what would happen if Riot had a really strong balance/gameplay team and what the game could achieve.

(Within a minute of typing this, the thread got another 3 upvotes. I'm pretty sure there's a LOT more than 20 threads about this on the Boards alone.)

In term of gameplay things are starting getting better. The recent reworks and new champ are pretty unique and nice to play. Sure there are still problems like the lack of counterplay to some champions/combos, but at least it seems like the team is aware of them. In terms of balance - it has been a mess ever since the Juggernaut rework and i completely agree with you

I agree that Riot is fixing already existing issues, but mind you that some of these issues have existed for literally years and at the same time Riot is making more and more issues nearly every patch.

They rework Gangplank, great. It took some time and a ton of nerfs/changes but he went from an unviable troll-pick to a decent champion that's fully capable of carrying. He's not the most balanced champion right now but the rework was rather successful in my opinion.

But then they release Rageblade and it breaks champions like Yi, Jax, and Kog for various reasons.

It feels like the balance team takes one step forward and two steps backwards. I totally agree that during the Juggernaut patch is when the balance fell apart. It really demonstrated there's an issue with Riot's balance teams when Mordekaiser was given like a 360% AD ratio and 190% AP ratio on the same ability and Garen could stack 6 Warmogs but still easily 1 shot a carry.

I feel like the motto for this season has been "let's create a bunch of issues in pre season so we have enough things to fix to keep the game/meta changing through out this season"

Yup.

Remove quad queues, make a solo queue, make a dynamic 2-3-5 man queue.

I don't even care if I share a ladder with people climbing on the backs of their friends, I just don't want to be on a team that can surrender even if I don't want to. On the most basic level, that's dumb. Outside of even in-game mechanics showing how little impact you have on a 4 man queue in game, it's the only thing stopping riot from doing a 2-3-5 only queue and a solo only queue.

I would not mind quad queues, as well as solo queuing in dynamics, as ling as we have a true solo. Is RIOT really want it to work they can give IP boosts to people, solo queuing in dynamics. I would take a trade - "less IP" vs "no premades" at a heartbeat

My worst experience is directly linked with me matched with 4-man groups. In a pure solo queue times would not be a problem, and not having it in order to improve the experience of those, who give me the worst experience is not acceptable.

I understand what you're saying, but think about what you said. "It is unacceptable for there to not be solo queue and improve the experience of the other players on my team and not me." Like, under certain circumstances there will be things in the game that make others happy and not you.

RITO's statement sounded like "we need solo players in dynamic, to fill the teams, so you do not get the solo, because you will prefer it over dynamics". With other words - solo players are forced to be slaves of the groups, just filling the gaps and not getting their preferred game mode where everyone is equal. You are free to call me selfish, and so be it. I posted this, because i want to enjoy the game, and playing with premades is not a good experience for me. I am perfectly fine for them to exist, as long as i can make the choice to play with only solo players.

But that's the thing, solo players are not slaves just being shoved into 4 mans every game. it's a very low chance your just a filler in a 4 man. They weren't saying that Solo players were just the filler section, just in a rare occasion you end up in a 4 man.

People tend to overreact on the bad events. However from what I've seen it is not THAT rare. And it feels horrible. 3-man queue feels similar.

Also, it kinda sounds like this. "Then go find another guy, sounds easier than making someone else find another person." Like, I'm sorry, but think about that.

It sounds equally stupid when people tell solo players something to the effect of 'If you don't like playing alongside and against premades, just make your own premade"

Anyone should be able to queue for a game, everyone shouldn't have to find a premade group to have a good experience. I dont see why you think that should be the ONLY option.

You realize that the people asking for a solo queue aren't demanding dynamic queue go away right? Some people like or don't mind being the 5th wheel with 0 communication or help but all the blame. They can play with you for some kind of bonus and you guys can deal with longer queue times for getting to play together.

I don't see how these are unfair trade-offs, the current system offers nothing positive for solo players but requires them to function.

If there is any reason for me to stop playing this game, it would be that I don't feel like I have an impact on the outcome of the game. And honestly with dynamic queue that happens more often for me. My hope is that Solo Queue could bring the old experience back where every player is equal.

Pretty much the same reason I want it except I'm just tired of playing with people who have been boosted to the level they're in costing me games.

I'm also tried of boosters in lower ranks making it insanely hard to climb for legitimate players.

I'm tired of dog pile reports made by premades vs an odd man out.

I just want solo queue back so I don't have to deal with this or insanely long queue times

They downvote it because they are selfish. They know if we had our own mode nobody in their right mind would ever touch dynamic queue (besides boosters/players looking to get boosted) and it would die within a month.

I didn't play ranked other than placements this season at all. I got diamond last season and wanted to get higher this time, but ever since I read dynamic q is coming, I lost all motivation to play this game. And then riot lied about solo q coming out in 2 weeks, and here I am, waiting 2+ months for nothing. I even tried getting into dynamic q but every game I played, there was some obnoxious premade. Now, you can tell me I just had that few games, but I don't even have the same feeling while playing ranked like last season. It's even worse when you know you share the ladder with people that can climb with their friends, doesn't make any sense. Oh yeah, getting 4 man buttfucked bot lane or 3-4 man ganked top is just a wonderful feeling when you're playing solo. Really gets me in the mood to continue playing.

Unfortunately Riot has shown that they truly don't care by their silence on the matter yet again.

January - 2-3 weeks Silence March 1 - a month and a half Silence March 22 - Solo queue dumpstered Silence

Riot is making their stance on solo queue known. They have completely destroyed any competitive integrity within the ranked system with dynamic queue. They completely destroyed the integrity of the challenger series by not having a clear route to the LCS anymore. They are destroying their own game on the competitive side one step at a time. But hey, you can queue with your friends now!

Don't expect anything from Riot but silence on this subject. When something like this happens they ignore it and hope the problem will go away. They have to be one of the most pathetic companies I have ever seen in regards to communication with their consumers.

I agree but it would take actually hitting their pocket book to do it and there is no way to reach everybody and the pro's won't put their careers in danger by helping the general public either. It would take such a massive effort to make them actually take notice that it won't happen and they know this. This is why they can completely ignore things like this. They are too big to really take a hit by people on the forums or reddit.

The best part is that the LCS is only going to get more stale because there will be a severe lack of new blood entering it. There is no 5v5 ladder anymore. There is no more clear way for teams to compete to join the LCS through the challenger tournament anymore. This is already becoming clear after watching the challenger series games. The new teams are bad even when compared to the worst in the LCS. They are made up of 1 or 2 washed up players and 3-4 newer people who just aren't up to par because there is no real way to judge who is good anymore ( the job of solo queue in the past ) for recruitment purposes.

Riot is slowly destroying their own competitive scene by their actions. It's rather interesting and there is a thread about the lack of viewers today for the quarterfinals compared to CS:GO. The professional game is stale and boring so people are going elsewhere. When people stop watching the LCS they will slowly find better things to do and that means they will be playing less. Personally, I used to get hyped up after watching the LCS and want to play even more. Now I watch the LCS and just think about what else I could be doing instead then usually go do it.

While I am a casual player i agree that pro scene is pretty stale right now. I address that to the balance, because all we see is the same 3-4 champions for each role, as well as the same split-pushing no-teamfight, no-kills strategy.

I would agree with that you said about the newer players.

You only mentioned the good side of premades. I don't think I got a good pair of premades yet. Most of them are toxic and last time they threatened to report me for banning a champ while 2 disagreed to report at all.

I really want solo quene. Premades go on power trips and they only work amongst themselves not as a team.

Toxic players are toxic no matter if they are grouped or alone. Indeed a coordinated flame by a few people is more annoying than a single player flame, but I do not really care about them. Guess it is a combination between a tougher skin and the mute button.

Yes please to solo queue. It's a better indicator of solo skill, it works better for high elo, and it's what makes a lot of people happy. Check Bjergsen, Froggen, Hai, or tons of other popular pros social media - solo queue really is better for some people. I've barely played ranked this season waiting for solo queue to come out and now Riot makes it sound like it won't come out at all. Please Riot, at least try and see if solo queue can work.

Yeah, I was doing great on the climb out of bronze, until I got to bronze I and hit the 4-man premades that 4 man gank bottom lane while the top lane zyra or whoever else is holding me off as heimerdinger or nautilus. They certainly didn't play like bronze I or low silver players, but that's an issue of it's own.

Smurfing is annoying, i know. However it is not a dynamic queue only problem, There were smurfs before it, there would bi in a pure solo queue as well. But i agree with you that one premade is somehow more bearable than 2-3 or 4-man smurf premades.

Champion select has nothing to do with solo/dynamic queue. They can keep the new champ select (which is fine) with a pure solo queue.

From what I can gather, the problem isn't fully solo vs a pre-made team, the problem is the skill of the players involved. I've been in teams of fully-solo queued players with PERFECT communication, pings, play-calling, etc against duos or even full parties who played as ragtag as you never expect. It's not the pre-made that makes a team great, it's just the skill they're capable of bringing. Instead of asking Riot to keep solo queue solo, you should instead ask riot to raise the actual requirements for playing...well, that really only stands for ranked play. ANYBODY can play ranked, no matter what they're capable of contributing to the overall team dynamic. And as long as anybody's able to get into ranked, ranked will be full of people who might not be able to play.

That's not the problem. One answer back i said that my problem is: A coordinated group would always have a stronger impact than solo players and when I play solo that would be disadvantage for me. A disadvantage I strongly prefer not to face. As simple as that.

NOT EVERYONE wants what you want, or even cares. If every single person on the Board wanted the same thing, you would still not be the majority of the LoL community. It doesn't matter how many people on t his forum spam threads, what matters is statistics and data.

I don't give a shit about Solo Queue, I'm more concerned with the inability to reliably get the role I want to play now that Team Builder is gone.
