The reason why Galio is overpowered.

TSM Bjergsen has just used mid, casually going full tank and finishing the game 3/0/15. The issue with this is that no other champion in the game can be used to do the same - played mid with 100% of gold invested in tankiness and still being perfectly fine. The reason why this is possible is being blatantly overpowered - his kit is so rich and stacked with CC and utility that lack of damage from not buying any doesn't hamper him in any way. What's preposterous is that his damage done wasn't low at all, i.e. his base damage is really high, and we end the cycle with no weaknesses whatsoever. Riot please nerf.

galio with his ult requires alot of coordination and timing with team to be really used effectively

he picked galio to counter corki mid who is mix damage who does alot of ap damage... they have a rumble top ( ap aoe damage)

galio was 3rd in damage on team barely beating elise in damage and the issue that game was the enemy kalista with 8k damage to champs...

so cant just look at one game for one champ on one player and say how its broken... you have to take the game as a whole

I don't know why you think that other tanks aren't able to soak up Corki 's damage? Oh right, they can, but because they aren't overpowered as much as Galio they cannot be used mid.

No matter how low damage he did, he didn't die a single time, wasn't even close, and for that amount of tankiness even that kind of damage is way too high. Furthermore, not only damage to champions counts, Galio has one of the safest waveclears in the game, let alone when comparing tanks. In other words, no other champion going full tank vs Corki mid should be allowed to get that many CS while going 6 tank items.

so cant just look at one game for one champ on one player and say how its broken... you have to take the game as a whole.

I'm not looking at one game and one player, Galio has been overpowered since his release, Riot nerfed him some, and I'm here showing how broken he still is.

There is no way in hell any other champion could be played full 6 tank items in mid lane with that much success.

LCS teams can make a lot of champs actually work especially on this patch. It's just a matter of them trying the comps and executing them well.

The fact that there is a champ who can be played mid with 6 full tank items is just not right. The blatant overpowered Galio kit is the reason behind it, and that made me open up this topic.

There is no rule but we don't see any tank being played mid EVER, do we?

Lucian and Corki are not broken because they are spellcasters, same as Varus, who are all suited for mage-like playstyle that mid revolves around. Galio is suited for top, jungle, support and mid equally well seems like, no other champion comes even close to that versatility. And it's all possible because his kit is too rich and versatile, stacked with base damage, as well as shit ton of CC and utility.

Get over it. You're being silly.

Galio may be the most powerful modern LoL champions, and it has nothing to do with much skilled involved.

Galio was always able to go mid and build tank as a counterpick to magic damage dealing champions. Pre rework Galio could be played top, mid, jungle and support much like current Galio. It's one of the things Riot intended to keep when they reworked him.

There aren't any rules regarding X champion for X roles only, but there are certain some standards regarding that. First of all, Galio is suited for top lane, however he is perfectly fine in jungle, as well as support, and as of late in mid lane apparently. No other tank can do that, not even close, let alone in professional LoL.

Except old Galio he didn't have a global ability that chains into AOE knockup, into a dash+AOE knockup, into AOE taunt+%dmg reduction+AOE substantial passive dmg, into AOE 850 range Q. The only thing old Galio had better was waveclear, but then again it didn't seem like TSM Bjergsen struggled with CS while ending the game 3/0/15.

AFAIK, Fiora was nerfed after that game when she was played mid. Furthermore, she fits the criteria for a mid laner as she is a strong duelist and builds dps. Galio is neither of those but his blatant overpowered kit compensates very much so.

Yeah, in the era of JarvanIV and Camille being meta picks top it trully requires team coordination and skill, they used E+R then Galio presses R on top of them. Oh my god, astonishing depth of tactics and mechanics, truly amazing stuff.

First of all, diamond+ measure is made of 90% diamond V players. Secondly, no diamond V player can be considered a Galio grandmaster as much as any pro is. Professional matches are the only ones who show the true power of a champion. This is why it has always been a base ground for balancing, and Riot has always balanced champions around it.

If you have the same knowledge, experience, skill, playtime and Galio mastery as much as Bjersen does, I see no reason for it not to happen.
