Is it better to do placements now or wait a week or two?
i don't know if it even makes a difference but what do you guys think?

first week matchmaking is a disaster.
Thrëat1 votesIt is iffy. Match making is a bit random at first, so if you are bad you might get lucky and get carried in more games than you would have. I'm diamond and it's iffy because I might have a few plays on my team and challengwrap on enemy which makes for an unpleasant experience. You can always look up team mates in champ select and Dodge if they are below your expectations. Dodges don't count as anything in placements.
