We are finally starting to see the negative impacts of Ghostcrawler
These terrible class updates and mini-reworks come to mind. The very thought of these very recent total failures takes me way back to WoW when GC put his mark on the game. First came the destruction of balance through a myriad of changes no one asked for (hint: class updates and reworks). Then PvP slowly but surely died. GC, still convinced that he was on the right path, continued his destructive design philosophy. After a while PvP died completely, balance was non-existent and the game went to dog. GC quit, subs kept declining due to his irreversible impact and refusal to admit his design was pure and utter trash. The newest expansion was a huge improvement with GC gone, and the game has recovered somehwat.
League has been severely dumbed down for everyone but pro teams. Snowballing is out of control and games are more luck-based than actually anchored in strategical play since you can tell who's going to win by the 10 minute mark when your bot lane either wins or feeds. Astounding pure cancer like
is actually allowed to exist. Class updates and 90% of the reworks are failures no one asked for
. Nerfing tanks when they were already weak so they have to be grossly overpowered to be even remotely viable
My question is a simple one: why hire a dude that literally wreaked havoc in another game? What exactly makes such a person qualified to design League? A person who has no idea what balance is or should be should not be a part of a PvP game. Surely recent history (in both WoW and League) should be enough evidence that this guy has no idea what he's doing?
