The Difference Between Playing and Mastering?

PLAYING Draven Draven is in lane and is farming. He is constantly bouncing axes and catching them in order to get some Adoration stacks currently. Suddenly, JarvanIV Jarvan IV comes out of the bushes from the direction of Draven's tower. If Draven used summoner 4 Flash, he would die since he would Flash directly into Jarvan IV and then be trapped inside his ring of stone. Instead, Draven waits for Jarvan IV to use Cataclysm and then flashes out. Draven then uses Blood Rush to side step Jarvan IV's knockup and damage, allowing him to get away.

MASTERING Draven Draven is in lane and is farming. Suddenly, JarvanIV Jarvan IV comes out of the jungle for a gank. Draven looks at Jarvan's defenses and sees that Draven needs to pull off two enhanced basic attacks before he as chance against Jarvan's initial burst in a duel. Draven uses Blood Rush to run into a bush and then basic attacks Jarvan IV. After Draven basic attacks Jarvan IV, he immediately runs in the direction of the other bush, pathing the axe in front of him. Upon seeing Jarvan IV use Demacian Standard, Draven flashes into the other bush into the spot where the axe will land, causing Jarvan to lose vision of Draven and allow Draven to catch the axe. Upon Jarvan entering the small area between the brush, Draven basic attacks him. Jarvan then is forced to use Cataclysm to win the fight, but Draven then uses Stand Aside and throws out a round of Blood Rush quickened Spinning Axes, but does not move causing little movement of his axes and allowing him to win the duel.

Just wanted to point out the difference. Being able to calculate how much damage your champion does and knowing their mechanics is mastering, while knowing how to react to situations as certain champions is playing the champion.

This is perfect. I've been waiting for someone to explain this in words I have not been able to find.

Probably not, but could you explain the difference between playing and mastering LeBlanc? :D

It would overall be about the same thing.

A situation occurs involving Leblanc and an Elise. Leblanc can just use a double W to get away or can read her opponents stats, use her W to dodge a Cocoon, teleport back to cast a double Q and then E.

About the same.

Lol, yeah. I have such a hard time explaining how LeBlanc is actually a complicated champion to master but she's fairly easy to just pick up and play. Everyone just gets all defensive when I say that because it's easy to do well with her.
